Klitschko V Thompson (Spoiler)
-
13 July 2008 04:36
Did anyone watch this shower of **** on Setanta? Absolutely dire performance from both fighters, Wlad won by 11th round stoppage with Tony 'Tiger' Thompson looking like he was happy to stay down. WK is tailor made for a smaller mobile heavyhanded opponent like David Haye. Based on Wlads last two efforts, Haye would KO him inside 4. Some comedy gold on the Setanta programme though. Enzo Maccarinelli talked about him still being better than Haye and that Haye was just better on the night. He also mentioned that he could be moving up to heavyweight. Haye also says that when he steps up and starts taking out the heavies it's going to be like a scene from The Matrix. Was surprised at the kind of comedy offered up on Setanta boxing, although nothing should be surprising any more on a channel where its chief analyst predicted Maccarinelli would bang Haye out of there early.

I will even go as far as to say it may have been the worst Heavyweight fight I`ve ever seen and I watched alot of the post Larry Holmes era too! Klitschko is just so one dimensional it`s untrue and Tony`the kitten`Thompson was just looking for any reason to get out of there. Shocking, absolutely shocking and I`d be more than happy to see Haye `jump to the front of the the queue` and take him on .

Vladamir is like a robot set on the same routine every fight. Haye would smash him up I think. Enzo is dreaming again

My god that was a dreadfull fight, Thompson was so slow and I honestly believe Klitschko was there for the taking. Add that to the awfull white ring and the terrible German TV camera angles Intersting that Haye said that he weighs 231lbs at the moment though.
Behold the turtle, he can't do anything without sticking his neck out.

I am putting a big bet on David Haye when the two come to meet each other. After watching Klitschko fight Ibragimov and Thompson, i am shocked that people pay to see him fight!!

Thats three dire performances from VK on the trot now. Lennox was ringside commentating and I bet he felt he could have jumped in and taken em both out. No doubt in my mind Haye has the skills and the power to ko VK, bring on the Hayemaker.

Yep real rubbish a robot and a runner, how annoying it is to see a boxer at that level with what seemed to be no heart or courage to take on somebody who quite clearly was open for the taking. VK will not be able to handle Haye's coming forward, confidence and determination i think the look of Haye before the first round will have VK beat. Enzo M is a bit dillussional if he thinks he is better than Haye I was there that night and from the first bell no matter what happened he was going to be out of there in the first 5 rounds. Haye is in a class above Enzo and that seems clear to me. IMO that is the next bit of real excitement Haye v Klitschov, the likes of Calzaghe, Hatton, and Khan all seem to have Doubts about them imo. Calzaghe wants money fight and safe, Hatton about the same and i fear he might go out on a stupid or bad lose and Khan is just frustrating me and some others with his continued weak opponents, and lack of tests. So for Haye to go up in weight sort out VK in style would be nice the only thing is where does he go from there?? Will it be another one on the list i just mentioned, no opponents or just journeymen, Mind you he could fight Audley or Danny W

So for Haye to go up in weight sort out VK in style would be nice the only thing is where does he go from there?? Retirement. The HW division is an absolute shambles. It would suit his goal to get out of the sport at 30 years of age and let him concentrate on his other interests. Unless Klitschko grew some nuts and went on the offensive from behind an aggressive jab, he would get destroyed very quickly. He is one dimensional, slow and has no head movement. He also likes to fight from a distance which suits Haye's style perfectly.

i watched the re-run this afternoon. terrible fight. thompson should retire, hate to see fighters with such little heart and effort like that. klitschko can only fight whats in front of him and even though he should have destroyed thompson early on it seems he just struggles to go up through the gears. as said he's ideal for haye.

ORIGINAL: Big D klitschko can only fight whats in front of him and even though he should have destroyed thompson early on it seems he just struggles to go up through the gears. That's a fair analysis of it. The problem is also that HBO pick who he fights. He is wasting his career fighting nobodies - guys he wouldn't get credit for even if he did beat them well. He has always fought that same kind of fight against southpaws and has had probs with southpaws like Corrie Sanders.

ORIGINAL: Delpy Parkay i think like haye said vlad is taylor made for him I can't wait for that fight to happen, but I am still more offended by Haye calling Povetkin (Gold medallist) a "bum".
