Hi Steve, We've been producing nutritional supplements since 2002, but have done minimal advertising - so it's not such a big surprise to learn that you haven't heard of us Our products are stocked in around 200 gyms and health food shops across the country. If you pick up a copy of International Rugby News or Fighters Mag, you'll see our ads. But we haven't done much advertising with publications such as Muscle & Fitness etc. as to date. With the launch of our new website, we're hoping to achieve a little online exposure. So hopefully a few more people will hear about us given time.

Do you happen to have any samples of your products that you can provide? Im a big believer in trying before you buy, Last thing i would want to do is buy a tub of something to find it disagrees with me or I dont like the taste hehe. Thanks!

I'm trying to arrange sample packs for muscletalk.co.uk readers at the moment as a matter of fact. If you e-mail me directly at gareth@sport-sense.co.uk with your address details and let me know what you'd like - i.e. mega weight gainer or hi-iso whey protein and what flavours, I'll do my best to get them in the post to you within the next couple of days.

I had a look at there website and there weight gainer doesnt look too clever for a start. I think i will pass Mega Weight Gainer combines a good quality protein source from whey protein concentrate with carbohydrates from maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is a staple of weight gainer formulas and is an extremely useful ingredient for 'hard gainers'. Maltodextrin is an easily digested complex carbohydrate which quickly replenishes glycogen levels. As James Collier points out in his Top 10 Body Building Supplements article here on MuscleTalk, '(maltodextrin) in bodybuilding it is invaluable for the lean hard gainer who struggles to eat enough carbohydrate each day.' Numerous trials have shown that combining whey protein with maltodextrin provides a powerful muscle building combination. Combining a quickly absorbed protein such as whey with a quality carbohydrate such as maltodextrin significantly increases protein synthesis - which leads to better gains in lean muscle mass. In addition, Mega Weight Gainer contains 2g of creatine per serving, which is certainly beneficial to those looking to add lean body weight. The formula is carefully balanced to provide 350-500 extra calories per serving(depending on whether mixed with water or milk), contains minimal fat and as Andy F points out above, has been specifically formulated not to be thick and heavy, so does't leave you feeling bloated or sick.

Will you be running any special offers on the mass gain product on its own? I would be using 2 a day and it would be quite expensive after a while to continue using it for months on end. Thanks :)

Yes, Maltodextrin certainly does have its place and its defo a carb i would choose as part of a weight gainer. However, your product contains about 70% maltodextrin which to me is just a tiny little bit over the top and not what i would be looking for in a good quality weight gainer product.

Hi Steve, Have you received your samples already? If you have I'm impressed with the Royal Mail We tend to do our Mega Weight Gainer and Hi-Iso Whey special offers as overall stacks, including various other supplements in each stack such as creatine, l-gluamine and ZMA supplements to add significant extra value. But I understand where you're coming from if you just want the core product. I can probably get the nice number crunching accounts people to agree to a 3 for 2 on the Mega Weight Gainer 5kg for a limited period. So that would be a saving of £45.99. I'll see what I can do. Cheers, Gareth

No....70% of the product is not maltodextrin - the product provides in total 68.9g carbohydrates from all sources and 21.2 grams protein per serving. The product is low lactose and low fat. In addition, Mega Weight Gainer contains no additives such as Aspartame, Cyclamate, Acesulfame-K or GM ingredients. If you're looking to gain weight, it's a well balanced product without any nasty fillers.

What other sources of carbs? Judging by the label, there is only maltodextrin as the carb source and the main ingredient. ther will ba about 1-2g of carbs from the whey protein concentrate and maybe another few from the flavouring?

Yes, I am correcting your assertion that the product is 70% maltodextrin, which is not the case. As I stated in my previous post, Mega Weight Gainer provides 68.9g total carbohydrates and 21.2g protein and 2g creatine, which is an ideal combination for any hard gainer. As stated to the label.

Ah yes, I stand corrected. SO the product is 69.4% carbohydrate of which 98% is matodextrin.

Can appreciate that you are stacking them with other products but at times I already have the others in question. Maybe custom stacks could be an option?
