what to eat before cardio - 14 July 2008 12:15
hi just wondering what type of meal/foods are best to eat before a session at the gym doing mainly cardio.

maintain muscle i already have and loose bf. the gym i use just shut the weight room down for 3 months so ill be using the cv room to tone and loose fat.

stats are:

age: 21
weight: 15 stone 0 lb
height: 6 ft 2
bf: 17.3%

any advice would be gr8

afternoon, 4-5pm i normally have chicken breast with wholemeal pasta or brown rice about an hour b4 training .

But you could possibly just been fueling the entire session so fat loss might be minimal.

Would you be able to do your cardio first thing in the morning before breakfast?
You fat loss would be alot greater if you did it at this time on an empty stomach

Protein shake is food.

No food/last meal 2 hours before (or on waking before eating).

If you can train in the morning, recommend 1/2 protein shake before and 1/2 protein shake and a bit of carbs (eg. 1/2 a banana) after.
