-
14 July 2008 18:48
Hi, currently having met-rx whey as a my post workout shake, but im looking for a weight gain supplement to gain mass healthily, ive seen 2 weight gain supplements so far in CNP Pro Mass and Optimum Nutrition Serious MAss just wondering if anyone has used any of these products and or would reccomend them or not optimum nutrition you seem to get more of your money, am i right in that you take it twice a day on workout out days when you get up and before you goto bed and once on non workout days?, also is metrx whey suitable for Post workout? or is there anything better in the same price range? pre workout i have a bowl of porridge and a banana about an hour before then a teaspoon of creatine mono before i goto the gym cheers in advance

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass..yeah I used that once. Quite a while back actually. Yeah it was ok. Just that the scoop size is huge, and that shake becomes really really dense and thick..its kind of hard to drink it. But I didnt really notice any major weight changes. It helped me but I guess another box would hav done me better.

A lot of people on here rate CNP Pro Mass mate, iv yet to try it but i will be ordering some pretty soon. Pro mass has a very good ingredients profile and looks a very good product, although to be fair so does Serious Mass. So to conclude, im not much help here!

what would you reccomend as a suitable weight gainer tho anabolic, couple of weeks ago i bought a blender, 3kg of oats, angel delights, ice cream and was mixing it with whey protein but because of my new job working away half the month im unable to use this so thought about getting a weight gaining supplement heard good things about both these products but still quite expensive im currently 6 ft1 and around 175lbs would like to get to 190 if possible and again cus of my work i cant eat 6 meals a day thanks again

I used Pro Mass and gained a fair bit, but not lean muscle obvioulsy but got my weight up to around where I wanted it, I was using it three times a day though. With regards how long it lasts it depends on how you use it, I cant stand any sort of protein / weight gainer in water so I mix with semi skimmed milk, also you dont need to use as much if mixed with milk That way a 4.5kg tub gives you 90 servings whereas if you mix with water it will give you 45 servings, so depends on how many servings you are looking at drinking a day

Well...I've used BSN TRUE MASS in the past and had great results from it. I'm a big fan of BSN, most of their products are fantastic especially N.O EXPLODE and CELL MASS. I missed some meals at times, so True Mass helped me fill up those empty gaps I left there. Tastes good too. I would recommend it. I gained just under 2kg in a month. I think thats pretty good progress. u can try it, its not THAT expensive. Thai fighter offers some very competitive prices on branded products, so here's the link and check it out for yourself. http://www.bodybuildingwarehouse.co.uk/bsn-true-mass--truemass-26kg-tub-399-p.asp

ORIGINAL: npfman excellent replies cheers peeps, just another quick question at the mo im only having whey protein as my PWO shake, someone said something about addind dextrose to the shake, where can i buy this from as nowhere seems to sell it, or are there any postworkout supplements with carbs already in them or similar? cheers again peeps Off the shelf post workout shakes include: 1) CNP Pro-Recover - designed for immediately post workout, and a great product by 99% of users. Comes in 1.3kg and 5kg sizes. 2) Optimum Nutrition Recovery 2:1:1 - an interesting new post-workout drink that's based on some new ideas about protein and carb sources. Should taste nice because it's ON, not tried it myself yet, or heard any reviews on it however. Probably some on the US boards - think this is 1.8kg. Aside from that, bog standard dextrose can be picked up in Superdrug. They call it Glucose Plus C and it comes in a 500g box for 99p a pop. You can add 50g's of that to whey and it's a cheap pwo drink that misses some of what the above have, but is a quick fix.
