the addition of single pressing/ bulgarian split squats over the last week has hit the glutes in an entirely new place. legs feel completely wrecked

my routine usually consist of a squat, leg press, deads. almost exclusively bilateral work. now the one leg stuff is hitting the legs in a totally different place, and my leg sessions leave me completely wrecked

something worth considering for those always doing bilateral stuff

 

I ll second that mate, ive noticed significant gains in leg size from dumbell split squats since Ive began thinking of them as a single leg squat, using the back squat only for stabilization.

One legged box squats are good too.

42.5kg to go.

Good for keeping a balance, and working other muscles.

I always include a unilateral movement for legs, push and a pull movement.

BB stepups are fun too lol.

Lunges are the only exercise where I actually feel the glutes working each rep. I hate doing them but lower limb instability and imbalance issues mean they should be a staple in all my routines.
