Eggs - White/yolk split - 15 July 2008 21:24
If a large egg is around 100 cals, whats the split between the yolk and the white?

no idea but the white is all protein (on average, for a large egg, say 4g), the yolk has roughly the same (so another 4g of protein) but all the fat (IIRC this will be about 7g)

Yeah, I've read that most eggs have a 50/50 split of protein between white and yolk. Don't be scared offf by the fat in yolks 2, they're great!! Mono and Poly fats make up the bulk of the entire fat found in the yolk, sat fat accounts for about 1/3 of total fat (according to the large egg I'm looking at now!!)
Peace be the Journey!
