Squats-is there any place for varying rep ranges like....
-
16 July 2008 18:38
.... this:- Last week on squats I did something like 60kgx12, 100kgx10 (warm ups) then 120kgx12, 140kgx8, 160kgx5 170kgx1 (failed 2nd rep) the 100kgx20! Just got an urge to do the 20 reps. Is there any benfit in doing low rep and high rep in same session? Althought, still cutting i train for size rather than strength

Backdown sets are quite common, might help a bit with recovery.

ORIGINAL: carl19 yeah why not, stimulate everything, and feel good too btw that is some good squatting cheers find it my best exercises really. Did 175kg for 3 last night but they werent that deep had no spotter and didnt fancy ditching it on the pins . I trained the same way last night too. I enjoy it actually. As a side note on dead i plan to do a triple, double and single once a months too, between those times just do 4x6-7

i see no issue with that if your goals including wanting bigger and stronger legs.

Can't see any reason why not mate - provided it doesn't negatively impact recovery rate? Actually sounds like quite a good idea.
