Need more Fats - 16 July 2008 18:58
My current Diet is consuming,

254gms Protien, 211gms Carbs, 34gms Fats. 2300 Calories.

I am 141Lbs looking to gain weight/muscle.

I want to increase my Fats to around 90-100gms.

What would be the easiet way of doing that by means of adding something to am eating i.e flax oil etc.

Also what multiviatims/Omega tablets do you reccommend?

You can add in Flaxseed tablets. I purchase mine from H&B, they're quite cheap. I get the largest tub.

You can also try to add in a decent amount of fish in your diet. That is, oily fish. Mackeral is an excellent choice which tastes fantastic to me.

Something like this would be perfect. http://www.myprotein.co.uk/capsules-tablets-softgels/omega-3-and-fish-oils/super-omega-3/

All the best,

The fat from my diet comes from:

1. Oily fish (usually salmon) twice a week.
2. One tablespoon flaxseed in casein shake at night.
3. 25g nuts also with casein shake at night.
4. 1/2 an avocado with one meal every day.

Nuts (and nut based spreads) are a great and easy way to get healthy fats into your diet.

What's your stats? 2300 calories doesn't seem like a lot to bulk on. You could eat nuts/nut butters as they taste nice and contain good fats.

You could try sprinkling some ground linseeds over salads, or using sesame seeds and pine nuts in salads too. Things like pesto and houmous are high in fat and if you make them yourself they can be very healthy. Good quality whole eggs are also a great source of fat, as is good quality red meat and fish.
