Cardio AM before food? - 16 July 2008 23:33
At the moment ive been doing about 30 mins in the morning at about 7am, what im woried out
is that its on an empty stomache will this tap in to my fat supply or will it burn serious muscle?
I hear different opinions all the time, im 22 14st 6ft 5 weeks into a cycle of Eq n Sus
I am looking to stay lean but am worried about burning loads of muscle off, would it be a
good idea to have a couple of scoops of whey before my workout or just eat afterwards

At the moment i get back from cardio make a masive shake containing 3 scoops of whey 1 scoop
of mass protein, oats and an avacado blended drink half straight away and take the rest to work

So train on empty or have whey before workout, whats your opinions guys?

cheers, Blue

Are you doing your cardio at a steady pace, or are you doing it at a fairly high intensity?

If it's at a steady pace, then unfueled would probably yield the best results.

However, if you're going at it quite vigorously, then eat something at least 15 minutes before you start your workout. To do high intensity cardio unfueled is dangerous in my opinion. It can cause dizziness and low blood sugar.

As a result people have been known to keel over and crack their skulls on something hard and die.

You'll only lose fat if you're a calorie deficit.

So you're burning more calories than you're taking in.

Cardio is a big help with this. I'm eating about 2200 cals a day on my cut, but I also burn about 500 every morning with my cardio making the deficit bigger.

So get your diet right, and the cardio will help.
