Three tonnes of cannabis resin have been found by West Midlands Police in its largest seizure of the drug.

The resin, which police believe has a street value of £9.5m, was found in a raid in Coventry on Tuesday.

The drugs were found in six pallets, each containing 500kg of cannabis resin bars.

A 41-year-old man was charged and another man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

The charged man was expected to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court later.

The seizure was carried out at what was believed to be a warehouse on the outskirts of the city.

A police spokeswoman said the raid was carried out following an investigation into the supply of drugs in the area.

She said the resin, which she described as "high quality", was being examined by forensic experts.

About £20,000 in cash was also seized from the property.

bastard mate,i used to like a smoke and thats a lot,but i honestly rushed into here thinking id read'3 tonne bar of soap' ready to be amazed by a massive bar of fairy or something.

I'm not sure where u can sell cannabis resin for 3 grand a kilo so the street value looks a bit high! lol. I think I'll move to that street if thats the case!

Soap Bar was always low grade resin, even back in the day. 20 years ago I spent some time on a farm just East of Ketama (dont ask, its all in my past!!!) and even then the Moroccans used to laugh at us (Europeans) for the sh*t hash we'd pay for. The good stuff, the pollen and the hand-pressed stayed in Morrocco or made it in small quantities into Southern Spain or occasionaly to A'dam.

And back then it cost £300 a k in morrocco, and I was reliably informed even that was over-priced!

No-one round here calls it soap bar.

I only know that term cos i watched a programme about goldy lookin chain once.

we 'had' standard hash, then diesel, occasionally a bit of pollen and stuff called indoian chalice but tbh it tasted like curry.

even the skunk round here is cut now,
i **** you not ive tasted sugar on some of mine, also heard of it being cut with fibre glass, sand blasted and stuff that makes it look all shiney

Spraying it with sugar water makes it feel 'stickier' and 'fresher'. Some guys spray it with formaldehyde - gives an intense, chemically high even if the weed itself is not too strong. Also causes brain and lung damage. I kid you not.

Soapbar is gash as is most resin on the streets in britain tbh. I used to get it £5/£10 1/8 of resin, skunk is £20 where i get it from.

My uncle got 13 years for 191kg of resin in his possesion and jumping bail to leave the country
