That is simple and pure jealousy mate. No one is above anyone's weight!!!

In the end of the day is two individuals that behind the "mask" have a personality and that personality will click with someone and might not click with someone else!

He probably has is own insecurities and instead of saying how nice she is and how good you look together (because you do mate) to make him feel better he tried to put these stupid doubts on your head.

i got this a few weeks ago.at a mates 21st party and a lad i went to school with said"that your lass" i replied yeah why he replied "shes alright aswell" as if she could do better than me or "punching above my weight"
just take it as a complement and dont let it bother you,hes probably a serial wakner and have nothing better to do than mock people who actually can pull
