ghopki - Porky's Back - 23 July 2008 09:11
Morning All

Due to event's over the last year, my training has taken a back step and so has my discipline.

My head is back where it needs to be now, and after many a "abusive" email from RACK, I have decided to once again log my progress to shed weight, more for a record for me (and for RACK to laugh at!)

My initial journey 2 years ago, I started at 17st 8lbs

Monday 21st July I was 16st dead.

Goal........13st and 15% BF

How to achieve this?

Simple...........

Enlist the help of TIO (thanks Eddie!!!!) for diet.

I know what to do, I have done it before - Nov 2007 I was 14st 6lbs and feeling good.

I need to shift the chunk first. before launching seriously into weights again.

My training initially will consist of a 3 day split concentrating on compounds and form - with shed loads of cardio thrown in.

Every Monday I will give a weight progress, with pictures after 3 months.

Diet and training will be up over the next few days.

Big thanks to RACK, through thick and thin that man is a true friend and inspiration.

Let's begin shall we

Reading a recent comment on RACK's journal (ok it was like 10 mins ago by Oasis) I feel I was guilty of exactly the same thing.......

Not following one path!

I think (ok ok I know) it's my training that let's me down.........diet and cardio were ok, my main issue was following one programme!

Might need to do further research now - don't want to get back into the same "oh it does not work, let's try something else"

Well done on the 5lb mate!

Thank's mate.

First week was getting the diet in check, so 5lbs with limited cardio and no training is not bad.

3 day compound split starts tonight

I'd just keep the cardio as is for the minute, when weight loss slows or stops then add more in. I think I'm guilty of going hell for leather far to quick so I don't leave any room extend things

Is there a "too much too soon" with cardio?

I think there could be. Let's say you're dropping 2lb a week doing 3 cardio sessions PW. This is a good figure so what's the point in going to straight to 7 sessions per week to try and drop 3lb pw? I'd keep everything as is for the time being and only increase when weight loss slows down. As said, if you're losing 2lb pw with 7 cardio session pw and your weight loss slows, where do you go from there??? Only way would be to do 2 sessions per day, plus weights and with the limited food intake you'll be having you'll burn yourself out, I think this is what's happened to me.

Fair point, maybe i'll see how it goes by adding the training in first then.
