Shoulder Injury - 23 July 2008 10:04
I dislocated my left shoulder and broke my collar bone in a snowboarding accident back in February and I’m now getting extremely pi$$ed off as it is still not healed correctly.

I did what I was suppose to, wore that stupid sling, did my rehabilitation exercises and was given the ok to train again starting lightish and working my way up but my shoulder is still in pain under certain movements and my left arm is so much weaker than my right in most exercises to the point where I hardly feel like I’m working my right side lifting the same as the left. This is effecting my bis, tris, chest, back but strangely enough not my shoulders at all.

Not sure what the point in this post was, mainly just a rant but if anyone has any advise please share.

Thanks

Colin

Best bet would be to see a physio. They should be able to help you wit exercises to do, to try and even things out and reduce the pain.

Avoid any exercises that aggrevate it.

A couple of months ago my 35kg female Ridgeback puppy decided to charge un-announced at a motorbike in the road yanking my shoulder out and doing considerable damage to the surrounding tendons etc......since then my strength in partciular exercises had been getting significantly weaker due to shoulder pain (bench press, dips etc)....then i started doing lots of rotator cuff exercises at home and the cherry on top has been Cissus Quadrangularis, i have been using it for only 2 weeks now and have seen a significant improvement where massage, heat therapy etc have all failed.
Those in the know shape em like a bow!

Ive not had an injury nearly as severe as a dislocation, however I would recommend strengthening your rotator cuff, serratus and lower traps. Try some stuff like external&internal rotations, scap push ups, wall slides and overhead shrugs.

Having done it myself and also being in the business I can tell you that a decent sports physio and/or an exercise rehab specialist is the way to go.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.
