Best place to get equipment for home gym? - 23 July 2008 19:05
There is literally NO decent gyms that are 1 bus ride away or closer, so I've decided to clear out the junk from the garage and make my own gym..

All I need is:

Power rack with pull up and dip posibilities
Bench
Oly BB
Oly Weights ~150kg+

Budget is £500, can it be done for this price?

And where is the best place to order this stuff from?

Thanks

Powerline power cage and bench. Standard 145 kg Olympic set from the same sight.

Make as much as your own as possible mate. Do you know any mates that work in a manufacturing factory or something?

Powerhouse fittness.

Can be done on budget.

I just shelled out on a load of stuff from fitness superstore. Basically I compared prices between it Gym Ratz and power house and it was cheaper for almost everything

www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk. Instead of just buying straight from the internet ring them up first and ask for a 10% off on their website price

Ive done it a few times so have other MT members, just state your planning to spend over £500

Its better in these cases to talk to someone 1to1 cos you wont get a discount online.

I spent over £700 and ended up buying extra weight plates that I saved from the discount

Thanks for the info guys.

Had a look at powerhouse fitness, and the best I can come up with is

http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/store/product.asp?pf_id=Bodymax_CF475_Heavy+Power+Rack&dept_id=27

http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/store/product.asp?dept_id=10&pf_id=Bodymax_CF430_FID_Bench_Mor

http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/store/product.asp?dept_id=61&pf_id=Powerhouse_140KG_Olympic_Cast_Barbell_Kit

Total: £668.98

Assuming i get the 10% discount would come to around £600 as well.

Both sets of stuff look pretty similar (I think) but would 1 set be more advised then the other?
