Joint protection supplements?? - 24 July 2008 11:04

Can anyone recommend a good quality all round supplement which will help protect joints and maintain a health diet?

Unfortunately I don't eat any fish, so I'm assuming I will need something with Omega 3 in it.

I'm currently cutting at the moment and have noticed my joints are clicking quite a bit at the moment.

Also what would be the recommended amount to take for best results?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I just take Adsa's own Fish oil tablets, there 1000mg caps, as for how many you need to take it differs for a lot of people, I take 3 a day as 1 did nothing for me at all, you may need 1,2,3,4 etc. Just buy some fish oils and experiment, they arent a drug so overdosing would be extremely hard :)

CNP Pro-Lipid looks similar as well, but was hoping somebody might know if it works or if there is a better alternative.

Find them all a bit confusing.

I used to use that when I was training for a fight, it's an excellent sup. Obviously you wouldn't want to use it every month, but it has been the best joint protection sup I've used. If you're going to be doing a period of very intense training, it's worth a dabble.

I think it's the only joint protection sup out there that includes Collagen as well as the standard Glucosamine you tend to get in things.

I would go with a more Omega 3 focused EFA supplement. You probably get plenty of Omega 6 in your diet, and probably lack Omega 3.

Have you tried Selenium, or MSM

MSM:

Selenium (After many years of gaming and having the mouse and keyboard at the wrong position I sometimes get pain in both my wrists from RSI, it goes away after using this):

So other Joint and Bone Support from H&B sale
http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product.asp?sid=1&cid=31&np=

Both are pretty cheap at the mo.

looks good the only problem with these all in one supps is if you put enough of everything in each tab would be the size of a mars bar!!.the thing they have skimped on is the MSM you need to take between 2 6 grams per day to notice anything
