Hi Pete
Just a quick question if I could.
Is there a right and a wrong way for an over and under grip i.e. if you're right handed should your left hand be under and right hand over? Or is it simply whatever is the most comfortable?
Cheers.

No right or wrong, go with whichever is comfortable

Hi Pete
Chuffed I ran into this log. I love your training. So simple. If you have a munite could you take a look at this thread please.

Deadlift 160 x 5
Squat 125 x 5
Bench 100 x 5

Everyone is different and respond to different things so there is a lot of play it by ear to find out what suits you. But as a basic start point train three days a week
Monday - squat
Wednesday - bench
Friday - deadlift
Obviously those three lifts will form the bulk of eash workout, you can add in one assistance exercise (or two) for each.
Personally I don't do assistance for squats, for bench I do either board lockouts, close grip bench or wide grip bench, for deadlift I do rows.
Start relatively low and work up to a new pb for five, then switch to triples and work up to a new pb for three, and then singles working up to a new 1RM. Then drop the weight and back to fives again.
That's the basic principle, tweak accordingly as you get more familar with the exercises and your needs. Good luck

Excellent comp JB!

You looked fine to me today Pete, not as perfect as you have been in a couple of recent sessions perhaps but still lifting very well indeed.

I know the feeling mate, I was genuinely unsure if I'd be able to squat at all today. OK once I got going, though.

Pete, I want to inflict some sort of retribution on those who damaged your garage.

Where do I start?

I don't even know who they were, in fairness I used to climb on roofs when I was a kid.

You could however force feed them pies, thus making them too fat to climb up there again and hopefully assisting a premature and painful death (not too) later in life

one of the fat little fcukers as damaged a couple of panels and got away with it. Little twats, I hope they die screaming, I have enough to contend with without sh1t like this. Thirty years I have had a garage there and today they start jumping on it. Bastards

Remind me to pass on passive anti vandal techniques I've picked up over the years. Quite inexpensive, and if you have to time to stand and watch pretty funny too.

I was originally thinking along the line of a four day week, but I'll stick with the three day week to start with. I like what you're suggesting. Makes a lot of sense and I guess it means I can go on lifting heavy, heavier indefinetely.

Thanks Pete!!

So you want me to rub salt in the wounds by wasting perfectly good pies destined for your stomach on a bunch of vandals?

You are truly selfless.
