ORIGINAL: 40 plus Hi Pete Just a quick question if I could. Is there a right and a wrong way for an over and under grip i.e. if you're right handed should your left hand be under and right hand over? Or is it simply whatever is the most comfortable? Cheers. No right or wrong, go with whichever is comfortable

ORIGINAL: ..stronger strongest Hi Pete Chuffed I ran into this log. I love your training. So simple. If you have a munite could you take a look at this thread please. Deadlift 160 x 5 Squat 125 x 5 Bench 100 x 5 Everyone is different and respond to different things so there is a lot of play it by ear to find out what suits you. But as a basic start point train three days a week Monday - squat Wednesday - bench Friday - deadlift Obviously those three lifts will form the bulk of eash workout, you can add in one assistance exercise (or two) for each. Personally I don't do assistance for squats, for bench I do either board lockouts, close grip bench or wide grip bench, for deadlift I do rows. Start relatively low and work up to a new pb for five, then switch to triples and work up to a new pb for three, and then singles working up to a new 1RM. Then drop the weight and back to fives again. That's the basic principle, tweak accordingly as you get more familar with the exercises and your needs. Good luck

Excellent comp JB! You looked fine to me today Pete, not as perfect as you have been in a couple of recent sessions perhaps but still lifting very well indeed.

I know the feeling mate, I was genuinely unsure if I'd be able to squat at all today. OK once I got going, though.

ORIGINAL: Titch Pete, I want to inflict some sort of retribution on those who damaged your garage. Where do I start? I don't even know who they were, in fairness I used to climb on roofs when I was a kid. You could however force feed them pies, thus making them too fat to climb up there again and hopefully assisting a premature and painful death (not too) later in life

ORIGINAL: Fat Pete one of the fat little fcukers as damaged a couple of panels and got away with it. Little twats, I hope they die screaming, I have enough to contend with without sh1t like this. Thirty years I have had a garage there and today they start jumping on it. Bastards Remind me to pass on passive anti vandal techniques I've picked up over the years. Quite inexpensive, and if you have to time to stand and watch pretty funny too.

I was originally thinking along the line of a four day week, but I'll stick with the three day week to start with. I like what you're suggesting. Makes a lot of sense and I guess it means I can go on lifting heavy, heavier indefinetely. Thanks Pete!! quote:

Wednesday, 30th April, start 17:00 Bench raw, all weights in kilos 20 x 20 20 x 20 20 x 20 50 x 5 50 x 5 70 x 5 100 x 3 110 x 3 120 x 3 130 x 3 140 x 2 150 x 1 paused Add Shirt, all paused from here on in 160 x 1 to 2 boards 170 x 1 to 1 board 180 x 1 190 x 1 195 x 1 Tricep extension 30 x 10 30 x 10 45 x 10 60 x 10 60 x 10 60 x 10 And that will do. Shoulder getting better, still not right but improving, Dr Rick did a very pleasant 170 pb and many strongmen did many overhad lifts. Mark Felix deadlifted bigtime and Joe the Terrible (remember him) squatted deep and crisp End 18:15 and offski, May tomorrow which means that saturday there is a Chippy with my name on it.
