i'm trying a 5x5 stef, just for a change and to see if my body does react to it, i'm definitely very sore since starting it, so we'llsee - i've got 6 weeks left on it, before i do a cut, where i might stay on it, at the same weights (ish) t try and limit lean muscle loss. Basically i'm just experimenting at the moment. Hows tricks?

Well 5x5 certainly gives it some volume...are you having computer problems lol...tricks are good m8 first week in my new job and things are going good..trainings all fitting in well and i can eat at good times and supplement my protein etc well as everythings there at the gym (readymade shakes etc)...trouble is with working i dont get too see martin so much and hes already phoned me twice moaning where i am so id better get my skates on...good luck with the cut, whats the diet/cardio plan for that.

Hi stef, I don't really have much of a plan for the cut, other than to do a gradual decrease in Carbs, and an increase in cardio (AM mostly). I'll decide on things closer to the time, no doubt i'll be asking a few people on hee, including you for advice, and Kinglean i expect. Make time for Martin! i'm sure you'll reap the benefits ;o)

Just wanted to add - just weighed myself, 13st 8 - Get In!!!!!!!!!! I need to have a couple of weeks off regularly, i usualy take a week off every three month, but i'm thinking two weeks off every 4-5 months shoud d it - i hadn;t gained anything for three months before this....

Nice m8 how tall are you..its good when you hit some personal targets huh..ive had great success with carb cycling at the moment ..keeps you full in the muscle whilst reaping the benefits of bf reduction

I'm 6'3 and a bit, depends on the time of day!! Carb cycling? Dunno if i like the sound of that, my diet is quite good at the moment, and i'm not overly looking forward to my cut food wise, but looking forward to revealing my definition........

A typical days diet is currently as follows: 0715 - 1 1/2 scoop Whey in Water 0845 - Low-fat Yoghurt (200g) /Fruit/Granola Bar 1100 - 300ml Vegetable Soup / Chicken/Turkey salad Sandwich (approx 60g) on w/meal bread. 1300-1330 - Chicken or Tuna (2-300g), Potato's and 2-3 whole Eggs with Salad. Apple 1530-1600 - Chicken/Turkey salad Sandwich (approx 60g) on w/meal bread. Doritos & Fruit 1715 - Banana & glass of Milk 1740 - Train 1845 - PWO - Whey in Water 1945 - 2 Chicken Breasts/Salmon or Trout Fillets - Sweet Potatoes and 150g Varied Veg. 2145 - MRP and Nuts 2230-2300 Whey in Milk On a non-Gym day, dinner would generally be an hourish earlier. Otherwise meals are generally around the stated times. I also drink 3-4 cups of tea of a morning, and have at least bottles of water between 9 and 530.

By my calculations i'm getting around 3500 calories a day with over 300g protein. Thanks maximuscle! The only reason i can think that i wasn't gaining before my break, was that i had overtrained and not receovered properly.

Friday 26/8 Chinups - BW - 5 full sets of 5 - found these easy for the first time. Pullup - BW - tried wider than before, still hard!!! need more work. One arm bent over DB rows - 32k - up to 34 next week Preacher curls - max of 30k Got a dip belt - gonna use it for chin's too

Monday 29/8 Chest and Triceps today - found it very hard to concentrate, the slightest thing would distract me and put me off my set. Don't think my sullen half arsed gym buddy helped! Dips - BW + 10k - shoulders hurt whilst doing these today - first time Incline Bench - 55k (incl bar) DB Flyes - 16k Behind head DB tricep ext. - 16k

Legs today - 31/8 Sqauts - 70k could have done 80 but its was far too hot. Plus with my rapidly expanding lower body, i don't want them to get huge! Calf Press - 140k Stiff Dead's - 60k Abs - Various A very good workout, sweated my arse off, 33 degrees my car said, thought about putting the gym off til today, but went, there's dedication for ya! Cheers king, a few weeks and i'll be calling on that offer......looking mighty lean there bro - scary! your back looks so much skinnier than your front. hows the new routine going, your Journal has had a severe lack of attention fro yourself!

oh and also............ i got quite a few comments from my family last night, at my Niece's birthday party. Apparently i've piled on the mass since they last saw me - which was only 3 or so weeks ago. My Chest, Neck and shoulders all look wider apparently :o)
