Just seen a friend of mine who was out on Saturday in a local club we go to pretty often, he's a bb'er / bit of a dab hand at a few different martial arts but rarely gets into trouble and in very good shape for the forums bb'in interest! But, whilst out a good looking lass came over and started talking to him, being very affectionate then 10 minutes later a lad came over and in his words said "wtf are you doing chatting up my missus; get the fk away or else" my mate said i'm sorry didn't realise, but no need to speak to me like a piece of crap.. And it was left at that nothing else mentioned. 5 minutes afterwards, a doorman went over to him and asked if he could have a word with him round the back, he obliged went through some double doors where there were 3 other bouncers that proceeded to absoloutely maul my mate without anything being said in there. He says he held them off as long as he could but with 4 big bouncers there while he was pushing one away another would hit him, trip him up, kick him etc.. He managed to get away and leg it out of the club before anything else happened. His face is a mess, bruises everywhere; suspected broken rib. I think there's a witness that saw him come out of the room with his face bloodied up but nobody actually saw the incident. Is there anything he can do about this??? Sounds like he was set up?

Sounds nasty. knobheadz thats the type of behaviour that ruin bouncers name. sound like a set up to me mate. whos he p*ssed off. best thing to do mate as you must know is go to the police and ask them what steps to take. sound like right cowards. ive worked the door for five years and would never act that way as i hope neither wd any of my colleges. i hope you can get them locked up.

i just told him as you said to report it to the police, so he rang and he says they aren't doing anything about it.. that's pretty shocking.

Not much the police could do prob as it would be his word against the bouncers. Sometimes wonder who's side the police are on. On Sat night a bunch of neds tried to jump us but ended up getting a kicking. We had witnesses that told the police we were attacked and were just defending ourselves. However police said if they charged the neds we would get charged with assualt too- justice at its best

yeah understand the police's point in our case, but maybe i was being slightly naive in thinking they would go and investigate! Ah well i've a couple of coppers in my family so may be worth getting them to go along to the club with my mate and asking for an explanation and see if they rise to the bait and blab! And you would be getting charged with assault?? Again i always thought if your attacked first, your merely defending yourself by hitting back!

I know it'll end up heading that way, he's taken it the sensible way and got nowhere so it's almost guaranteed it'll kick off but have to be sly about these things. Anyway, before all that, maybe the council?

I would find out what door company they work for and complain to there boss, then contact the SIA on: 08702 430 100 (they are the company that gives out the licences) before phoning... go to the venue and get the number that is on there badges, if they even have the new badge that is- you could get them there (serious fine, and wont be allowed to work as a doorman for a very long time)... also go to the manager / owner of the venue and make a formal complaint they sound like toss3rs probably do this sorta thing alot so there could be other allagations/complaints that could show a pattern of behaviour... I am a doorman myself and hate it when i hear stories like this, the company i work for is very professional and we use appropriate force when its necessary, unless of course a bloke assults a girl, or one of my collegues / bar staff... then we may take them the long way out missing a few cameras

Bouncers are a happy lot... usually, but they do have a lot going for them... the police wouldn't be able to control town centres on Friday and Saturday nights without the bouncers goodwill and therefore aren't very likely to pursue anything against them with any enthuseiasm. Your mate sounds like he got away early... could've been a lot worse.

As others have said he should try and get the details of the bouncers. Also, he should get in touch with the management of the place. He could be in line for compensation for his injuries: either through the security company that employs the bouncers or the club it self which hires the bouncers from the company. He should cal them up explain the situation. I also think he should go down to the police station and report it in person and go to the doctor just so that it is on record what sort of injuroies he has etc.

However police said if they charged the neds we would get charged with assualt too- justice at its best Yes, the police always use this so they dont have to bother with the paper work, keeps crime figures down. They think nothing will come of it in court, so they cant be arsed with the hassle. A mate got beat up and the police said if he pressed charges then he would also be charged even tho he never lay a finger on the other chap! Police should give lie detector tests to people, im sure it will help sort out whos telling the truth. I know a few people who had similar experiences and they were also told they would be charged with assault if they press charges against the other person. To be honest ive lost a lot of respect for the police force and the goverment. Ive seen and experienced hundreds of crimes and the police have not done a single thing about any of them! Apart from one case where a mate of my cousins who just came out of prison (Holiday Camp) after serving 3 months. When he came out he said he had a great time. He played on a Playstation 2 most of the time and watched sky tv. He said it was a right laugh. He even said he put on loads of weight because the food was great and he had plenty of it. I dont think he would mind going back inside. - What A Great Prison System We Have!
