Thanks Djd, I feel much better now i have a good routine on the go, Anyone who reads this and fancies building a squat rack - i can tell you it is as solid as a rock. Definatley starting to feel a bit bigger (not carrying any invisible footballs under my arms yet) I definatley feel muscle memory will come into play and i might make a good 13 stone by christmas (with around 20% bf hopefully)

First time with the SLDL ,but i used to train many years ago and squats were a part of that training, I could squat with 4 x 20 either side of the bar, thats about 180kg with the bar.... i was a fairly strong dude, but that was then, this is now and i dont own that much weight to put on the bar !!!!!!

cheers, I struggle to remember my best lifts, all i can remember is 3 for bench,4 for squat and 5 for deadlift, I am really gonna have to dig out my old training log's. I cant remember if these are my 1RM's or not, Dont really matter , your right , I am gonna give it a shot to get back up there, might be hard without a powercage. Every long journey begins with a single step................... TAXI !!

Looking good there Jonny! Reps increasing nicely - maybe time to up the weight [?] Re your question about a Prolapsed disc - not sure if prolapsed / slipped are one & the same - all I know is I was in friggin' agony for quite a few weeks! Eventually got some decent painkillers off the quack & spent a small fortune at the Chiropractor's. Touch wood it's as right as rain now & I hope it stays that way!

Yea, I am running out of weight don, need a couple more 20k discs (for starters!!) When i used to train 8-10 years ago the rep range was 8-12 , but these days people say 6 is optimum which takes some adjusting to, especially barbell rows , I'm pleased with my progress considering about 10 weeks ago i had a poxy bar with about 15kg of vinyl weights...Let the good times roll !

Lastnights sesh Squats 70kg 12/12/10/10 my thighs are strongish but the other surrounding muscles/ligaments need bringing up to speed i think. SLDL 50kg 12/12/12/12 still getting the form but i feel 'em in the old guitar strings !! Calf raise 80kg 20/20/20/20 mmmm, feel the burn but calfs are a wierd one .... Ab crunches all in all the leg routing seems good, i can feel the strenght returning to my legs, and the DOMS i had today made me walk like a 10bob hooker after the navy had been in dock. The whey is goin down well and my protein intake easily reaches 160 a day.

My trainin partner cried off tonite, however i had a rockin workout !!! jeeeeezzzeeeee Deadlifts 100kg 10/8/6s 90kg 10 Chins me 12/6/7s/4s The heavey deads taking their toll i think, also no partner means less rest time between sets... B/O rows 70kg 11/10/9 60kg 12 to see if form was better,it was the same - which is ok Barbell curls 35kg 10/7 32.5kg 8/7 I am not entirely sure how far to bend on the barbell rows - about 45% ? will check it out. s = straps

About 45 degress is fine, If you're worried about form try and make sure: you're not cheating with your calves your back isnt rounded you focus on pinching your shoulder blades together row into your lower abs Have you seen the episode of Men Behaving Badly where Tony decides to make outdoor furnature and convert their shed into a sauna? When I look at your dipping station I just think of the table he made... when it falls apart: "AAAAAAWWWWW!! it's not made for hats!" But seriously, nice job on the kit you've put together :)

LOL, I remember the episode - tony seemd so proud of his handywork !! all in the name of gettin yer leg over !! Cheers Touche,My form is pretty good then, i musnt fall into the trap of heavier weight taking over form,so i might drop down a bit to make sure its bibbety-bobbety-spot-on, and thanks, i am well pleased with the equipment i have made, hurray for the boar !! Baloo, brabell curls are a lancashire custom and should only be performed my hairy pig type creatures in sheds.
