LMAO!! Might try them again next week as they felt quite good. Much easier to keep my balance with than lunges anyhow and I didn't get as out of breath either.

Yes, 60kg on the SLDL's was just a test weight. I can't remember what weight I used, when doing them in the past, but I'm deffin going to be upping this some, come next week. They were pretty easy.

Do you mean up the weight on the dips or pullups? I'm not using any added weight on the pullups yet.

How'd you guess?? Yes, it was Ice_mach!

I didnt like the one legged squats or bulgarian splits (like a lundge but on a bench) to start with, but they improved my balance quite a bit and werent as harsh on my weak knees.

Yes, you are def upping the weight on the SLDL's next week boyo.

How come you do your pull ups overhand rather than underhand (underhand is palms facing you while you do them...i think)?

Ice_mach told me he had helped a few people out when i asked him, wasn't 100% sure if you were one of them

I know I like an overhand grip to really involve the lats

Is there no issue with stressing your shoulders too much?

I may be wrong

As I'm repping with 100kg on the deadlift, what would you say would be a good weight for me to SLDL with?

My right knee has always been a bit messed up inside. Fell on it a fair few times back in the old skating days.

I normally swap the pullups. Sometimes do over, sometimes do under or sometimes do both. I find over hand (palms away with wide grip - as Rambo also said) works my lats more, upper back and shoulders. Under hand (palms facing) tends to work my bi's more. Over hand does stress your shoulders a bit, not a lot though, more your lats.

Yep. I've seen/read/heard of a few others who've also been helped along by Ice.

My grip isn't very wide at all NM! probably why my shoulders are fine doing them

Also my SLDLs caught up with normal deadlifts and ended up being about 5kg lighter

Thats what I thought the other day. Hopefully I will have by Monday too (got up to 77kg). Would be really intresting to find out exactly how much of that is B/F and how much muscle I've packed on in such a short time.

You haven't got a journal on here have you? Just out of interest what are your stats and how long you been training?

Nothing to do with me! Just NM and Perry!! God knows what they were on aboot, dirty gits! (only joking guys )

Dedication is the name of the game!! Get everything sorted and you'll be flying.

I haven't missed 1 training sesh, 1 meal, had any cheat days or anything bad since the start and I don't want to sound like I'm up my own arse or anything (its going to sound like it though Lol!), but I guess you could say I'm proof of what an "all good" everything can achieve. Ooop, right up there!!

Good luck for the New Year. What about starting up a new journal and keep track of everything and keep it up to date?

You are right about dedication being everything though, thats it for me. Renew gym membership, big delivery of Whey and a shopping list to give to me mum and a new journal...2006 year of dedication and busting my balls.

Friday 30th Dec

Warm up: Good stretch, 8 reps light DB squats at 40 & press ups.

dB SqUaTs (heals raised)- 5x8 @ 54, 57, 59, 61*, 65.5*(9)
BeNt OvEr Bb RoWs - 5x5 - @ 55, 60, 60, 60, 60
BeNcH - 5x5 - @ 69, 69, 69, 69, 69 (4), 69 (1!!)
sKuLlS (decline, ez bar) - 3x12-20 @ 30kg - 12, 10 (8th rep + dodgy), 8 (6th+ dodgy)

30kg CG bench & curls w/ ez bar to failure

DB squats felt good today, but I can only fit 59kg on the DB's, so I had to resort to shoving 1 and 0.5kg weights in my pockets to up the weight! Also put 2 thick plates on the floor underneath my heels, to put more pressure on me quads, which I think did the trick.
Felt comfortable with 55 on the rows, so I upped it to 60 and then I found myself shrugging it up again at the end of the movement. However on the 5th/last set I took my mittens off (gloves!) and tried it without them. Strangley they felt a lot easier and I did the 60 without the sh1ty shrug bit at the end. Weird
Upped my bench by 2kg but failed to get all 5 reps on the last set . I struggled a bit to get it up to the retaining hooks, so another rep I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to complete and had to role the 69kg + the bar weight down my front to get the damn thing off. Got up after finishing and went back to the bench to try to knock out a few more reps, but only managed 1. Went for the second but as I predicted before, I failed to get it back up to the hooks....aaand had to role it down my front!! (serves me right I guess). I didn't use gloves for this either or anything else.
Loving the skulls. Up to 30kg, but with dodgy form on the latter reps, so I'm going to stick with this for now and improove. Also added some curls in at the end after CG bench with the ez bar @ 30. Feeling good.

Still have my valcularity Ccaveman LOL!!

Board stupid ATM, so quick pic taken on 30th Dec, compaired to Nov 7th. Think chest has actually come on a bit since, which I'm quite surprised about as I didn't think it was doing much. Shoulders I think might have beefed out a bit and course a wee bit fatter than before! Damn stuff!!

Thanks a lot Sabbeth for the complements, but I'm not sure about making the last pic my avatar!! Maybe in another months time LOL when the rest has grown a bit bigger!!!

Me chest on Nov 7th, looks well bad compared to Dec 30th, still a long way to go though!

Caveman, as long as getting tubby works and we still get huge, who cares hey??

EDIT: Weighed ones self this morning and I still weigh 75kg!!

Mon 2nd Jan

Warm up: Good stretch, 8 reps light DB squats at 40 & press ups.

db SQUATS (heals raised)- 5x8 @ 57, 59, 63.5, 67.5, 70 (feelin )
deadLIFTS - 5x5 - @ 85, 90, 95, 100 (2 – feckin sweaty hands!), 100 (attempt but lost it)
benCH - 5x5 - @ 70, 70, 70, 70, 70
inCLINE db press - 3x12-20 @ 40kg - 12, 9, 10 & 6

Press ups to failure straight after presses. Managed 10!!

Today wasn't too bad a bit dissapointed with deads. Squats went well, and instead of loading up my pockets full of weights I got my dipping rucksack and stuffed that full of them. Ended up squatting 70kg, but keeping good form throughout was difficult and they were very similar to deadlifts in the fact that I had to bend over slightly to pick them up and put them back down. The majority was with good form but I have managed to screw my lower back up (ohh lucky me ) and it was harsh on the old shoulders. Just in time for deadlifts too!
Deadlifts Started off OK, but even the first set of 85 felt heavy. As I upped the weight each set, by the time I was up to 100, I just wasnt in the right frame of mind to continue.
I slapped some Chilli Pepps on the CD player here, throwing the white stripes across the room, skipping through to find a fast paced track, ooo yea and I found it: track 7 "Can't stop". Just in time for bench press too. Schweet!! Blasted out 5x5 @ 70kg and repeated the same track 5 times!! What a tit, but it worked and I was well pleased with myself after that . My mind was back with me too!
DB presses were a bit dodgy from last weeks 12, 12, 8, but my arms were knackered all the same and finished off with pressups to failure.

Back is still giving me jip, and the sweeet, sweeeet DOMS are back in my legs already!!

great benching! I take it you use a over/under grip for deadlifts? (at least the heavy ones)
