my shaker smells i cant get rid of the smell

 
my shaker smells i cant get rid of the smell.
my maxi shaker makes me feel ill when i drink out of it
before any smart arses say wash it i assure u i have washed and cleaned was wondering if any body else has expereiance this and is there a solution

Buy a new one, they're not dear mate

Couple of quid should buy you a fresh one.

no solution I'm afraid, as others have said 2 quid should get you a new one

yeah it happens after a few months start to smell strange.

Do you leave the dreggs in a while before washing? I clean mine when i get home from the gym. Before used to just wash the next day and got the same problem as you.

 
Thanks for ur replys i have brought 2 in the last month.
I think that might be my problem leaving the last drop in the shakker in my bag through the day

If you want it clean. Put shaker in a bowl then fill with boiling water from the kettle and lots of toilet bleach and fairy liquid. Leave it over  night

^^^ that usually fixes mine - even on the occasions when Ive forgotten them in the boot of the car for a week and they smell like old farts when you open them...

Just dont shake it when the hot water is in!!! 

never leave any amount of protein in it

if you drink it in the gym go to the toilet and give it a quick rinse then properly wash it whenever the next time you use it, ive gone through so many cos i always forget to wash it straight away :(

Baby bottle disinfectant- very cheap from Morrisons. Follow instructions as explained on the bottle, job done.

Yeah, milton steriliser tablets will do the trick. Fill you shaker full of boiling water, pop half a steriliser tab in and whack the lid on. Let it sit overnight and it'll smell fresh as a daisy the next morning.

You'll find the steriliser tabs by the baby products in the supermarket, not expensive.

Yup, same here! Nothing worse than a smelly 2 day old shaker with protein dreggs in
 

Make sure and rinse it when you are done with it. Just give it a shake with a bit of water, pour that out, then maybe rinse. Have even done it just using a touch of water out of a cooler when in an office.

Leaving anything in one and it's near impossible to get out.

You could try the uber-cleaning methods above, or just get a new one and keep on top of it.

i put mine in the dishwasher, have a few of the, the oldest is prob 5 years and still fine! they can go from off cheese to perfect after a wash! got to remember to pop the cap off the lid though or it traps a cheese stink that you only notice when you apply your lips!!! 

The stuff for cleaning baby bottles would probably work- after all, that stuff is for cleaning milk residues.
