optimum nutrition serious mass...

Can someone clarify somthings for me? Maltodextrin is a complex sugar right? which the body breaks down into more simple sugars? ON Mass claims 252g of carbohyrdates per serving, with only 20g from sugar? Yet the 1st ingredient listed is maltodextrin. Am i missing somthing, or is that a little misleading? Im not sure on other products as i was just reading about this paticular one!

surely its as simple as malto isnt classed as a sugar, its classed as a complex carb. I think the confusion arrives at the fact that it is high GI and comparable to sugar in that sense. all carbohydrates are broken down into sugars, because thats how the body uses them!

As said its referring to the malto content - which most would see as a high GI carb (sugar)

Im not having a pop at any companies, just interested really. as above and i thought "Malto will be on the label first as its the highest percentage ingredient, malto is classed as a complex carb as its a long chain in spite it acting like sugar its not classed"
