pain in rib cage area left side?
26 April 2005 09:51
( permalink)
I've been getting some sharp pains in my left side, just at the bottom of my ribcage (maybe a little under). Is this cause for concern? I know this is near my heart, so it worries me. It's not all the time, but it does happen every day. Anyone else have anything like this? By the way, this is my second cycle. I am doing 600mg/wk Test E and 600mg EQ along with about .6mg of anastrozole daily...

broken floating rib IMHO is it sore when you breath, cough or laugh? and also sore when you poke at it? most likely you've broken your floating ribs - tis' easy done they're only 3mm thick or something happens to me all the time ninja

Very easily done ... it does sound like just a rib ... as ninja says, does it hurt when you cough/laugh/breathe deeply... It could of course just be bruising rather than a break... but a broken bottom rib is very very common!

It might hurt a little when I breathe deeply, but nothing more than how it hurts normally. It does not hurt when I cough or laugh though...

It's probably a broken rib, been through the same myself a few times, your symptoms sound very familiar

Sounds like rib damage to me as well. Does it sometimes feel like your body in that area is too tight / constricted for the movement you want to do and you cant push out when you breathe in? I used to get them being kicked in the side of the ribs during training.

honestly guys, I don't really have those symptoms. It hurts, but not more when I sneeze or cough, and it's not contstricting. It just comes every so often as a sharp pain...

Is it as if you are being stabbed with a pin underneath ur chest/ribs when you expand your lungs to there maximum?

a while back i went to the doc with chest pains and he informed me that occationally when doin strenuous activities, you may break off a piece of cartalidge which iis built up between each rib and this will cause pain and discomfort.

ORIGINAL: trickassmark honestly guys, I don't really have those symptoms. It hurts, but not more when I sneeze or cough, and it's not contstricting. It just comes every so often as a sharp pain... Does it come more at night when lying down? Does it last a while rather than just a sharp pain which disappears immediately? If so it could be too much acid in your stomach or even a stomach/duodenal ulcer.

yes, this sounds exactly like what it is... i've been getting pain other places as well, and someone else (just a buddy that knows nothing about health) mentioned it could be acid since his friend had similar symptoms and he had acid. I guess it probably is then. What helps it go away? I don't want to end up with an ulcer. ORIGINAL: global ORIGINAL: trickassmark honestly guys, I don't really have those symptoms. expanding them doesn't usually make any difference (although it has a couple of times)

I just had the same problem, the doc gave me some strong anti acids called Zoloft (on prescription). You could try some over the counter stuff first, something containing ranitidine is good, but if it doesnt work see the doc, you're right you definitely dont want to get an ulcer.

Zoloft is prescribed for anxiety and depression.

I would suggest seeing the doc to make sure this is exactly what is going on before taking any meds.

is there anything over the counter I could try to see if it helps it first... i would rather not go to the doc, she'll get pissed if she finds out i'm on anything, and i know she'll be suspicious.
