popular belief is no no for carbs and yes to casein based protein. However on a bulking regimen it wouldnt be bad to consume oats before bed with a slow digesting protein like a casein shake...in fact studies have shown and it was also in muscle mag that oats aid sleep and are better to be taken at night rather than in the morning. Also bananas are good to aid sleep and so could be used before bed though i have found these bloat me...each to their own...as the guys above have said cottage cheese and quark are winners.
