Last week was my first week of the new routine and it went okay, although still building back up a bit after cutting (lighter weights, higher reps). Started squatting again (had swapped them for leg presses after hurting my back). Managed 80kg for 3 x 5 reps, did 70kg for the other 2 x 5. This morning benched 60kg for reps for the first time since cutting, so building back up. Also leg presses 131.5kg 5 x 5 which is the heaviest I have done ever. Dips up to +12.5kg which is good for me, will up it next week. Also re-evaluated my bent over barbell row form after watching a few youtube vids. Actually found it easier after changing to more correct form! Looking forward to Wednesday's session now!

Had a good week. Deadlifts 130kg for reps on Wednesday. Squats back up to 85kg on Friday. Hoping to get squats up to something half respectable, say 100kg by the end of the year. I have never done them that much. Weight now 12st exactly, waist 80cm.

Quite good session today. Flat bench not going back up as quick as I'd like. Managed 4 x 60kg and 5 x 57.5kg which was better than last week. Leg presses, moved up to 133.8kg and did 5 then another 5 easily, so I did 6 then another 6, still easy. Then put it to 136kg and pumped out 8 reps! So - must go heavier next time. Did 50kg on bent over rows and up to 15kg weighted dips 5x5.

Good deadlifting today. Managed 132.5kg for 4 reps which is as much as I have ever done. Also DB benched 25kg for 8, 7 & 6 reps but I think I'd struggle to raise up heavier DBs to starting position. Also did chins, DB curls and skulls, which all progressed from last week.

Friday sesh went okay. Feeling pretty comfortable with squats at these weights. Don't really like doing them as I feel a bit unstable and feel like I'm going to get stuck in "the hole". But I think I'm taking it slowly. Squat: 40kg x 5, 70kg x 5, 85kg x 5/5/5/5 (definitely try 90kg next week) OHP: 40kg x 5, 45kg x 3, 42.5kg x 4, 40kg x 5/5 (keeping these strict, no leg drive) Calf raises: 122.4kg x 10, 104.3kg x 10, 86.2kg x 10, step raises 3 x 10, standing 15kg raises 3 x 10 DB one arm rows: 35kg x 5, 37.5kg x 5/5/4, 35kg x 5 (only started these last week and already using the heaviest DB in the gym!)

Irritating session at the gym today. New students started last week I think. This time last year there was no difference at 7:30am but this year it was pretty busy. One guy hogged the bench for 30mins, then another guy hopped on it straight away so I had to make do with the chest press machine! Which I did last as I was hoping to get on the bench, so was pretty knacked by then. Still, managed PB on the leg press machine. Leg press: 115.7kg x 6, 136.0kg x 5, 140.6kg x 5/5, 142.9kg x 5/8 (PB for weight and reps, pushed out 8 reps at the end, probably could have pushed harder earlier) BB bent over rows: 45kg x 6, 50kg x 5/5/5/6 Weighted dips, +15kg: 6/6/6/6/5 EZ bar curls: 30kg x 5, 35kg x 5, 30kg x 8/7/6 (30 was quite easy, 35 I struggled) Chest press machine: 59.0kg x 10, 68.0kg x 5, 77.1kg x 5, 70.2kg x 5/4 (rubbish, but I was wasted by then) Hoping it's a bit quieter on Wednesday.

Back in the gym this week after a week and a bit off due to holiday. Gym is still busy with students hogging equipment. On Monday one guy was in the squat rack for ages practicing cleaning with about 30kg of weight, squatting with 40kg (at least he went deep) plus various other exercises with very light weights. This morning I watched around 6-8 lads in turn bench press with 50-60kg and not one of them went bar to chest. Some of them only dipped the bar about 20cm. Anyway, managed my highest DL for reps today, although struggled for stamina in all the heavy stuff. Deadlifts: 90kg x 8 (warmup), 130kg x 5, 135kg x 5 (PB for reps), 130kg x 4, 125kg x 5 (struggled with stamina on last few sets) Skullcrushers: 30kg x 5, 35kg x 4, 30kg x 5/5/5 Chin ups: -16kg assist x 5, -10kg assist x 5, BW x 3 (was hoping for more!), -10kg x 5/5 DB bench: 25kg x 7/6/5 DB curls: 15kg x 8/8/8

Hit a squat PB today! Not an impressive number, but the best since I started squatting as low as I can possibly go. Squat: 50kg x 5, 85kg x 5, 90kg x 2, 95kg x 2, 100kg x 1 (could have probably done another, or gone heavier but thought I'd leave it at that). Bench: 50kg x 5, 60kg x 2, 65kg x 1, 67.5kg x 1, 70kg x 1 (not a PB but the best since I started cutting back in May) Calf raises (leg press): 10 x 122.4/104.3/86.2kg DB one-arm rows: 37.5kg x 5/5, 35kg x 5/5/5 Overhead press: 40kg x 5, 42.5kg x 5/4, 40kg x 5/4

And a deadlift PB today! Previous was 150kg done when I was around 82kg (am currently about 76kg). Deadlift: 90kg x 5, 120kg x 5, 130kg x 2, 140kg x 1, 150kg x 1, 155kg x 1 (PB) Skullcrushers: 30kg x 5, 35kg x 5/4, 30kg x 8/7 Chin ups: -16lb x 5, -10lb x 5, BW x 5/3, -10lb x 4 (just realised the assistance on this machine is lb not kg as previously written) DB curls: 17.5kg x 8/6, 15kg x 8 DB bench: 25kg x 8, 27.5kg x 4, 25kg x 7 (first time I've pressed 27.5kg DBs so pretty cool)

Yeah, it's going okay. Weights are going back up now that I've stopped cutting. Was repping deadlifts for 135kg x 5 last week and this week I did the same then realised I had only put 132.5kg on Have a few goals I'm working towards which are 1 x BW bench, 1.5 x BW squat, 2 x BW dead. Yes, I know this isn't exactly strong but I never have been and it's something to work towards. At the moment I have done the dead one. Managed about 92% of bench and 130% squat although I know I could do more (and may do on Friday). Haven't had time to read MT much - why must work get in the way? - so haven't kept up to date with your progress either. How's it going?

1xBW bench, 1.5xBW squat and 2xBW DL are all good milestones mate, get the food into ya and go for it! What kinda numbers are you benching at the moment?
