So now my injury has been repaired I am hoping that with this book I can get back into shape again by eating healthily and training correctly.

Do keep us posted as to how you get one

RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! Two things which really strike me are:

1) What a stupid fvcked up world we have. No wonder we have so many health problems when every garage, shop, cafe has sweet sticky fatty evilness tantalizingly easy to grab.

2) Every kid should get the nutritional, anatomical, and physiological information contained here taught to them at school.

PG

RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (red_devil)

 Hi James,
I previously lost 6/7 stone following a relatively poor diet and have since gained a couple of stone back, but in this time I have become far fitter and stronger.

I would really like to lose more fat but not lose any muscle, would this be possible? My current training regime is:

Monday - Weights + Circuit Training
Tuesday - Weights + Rugby Training
Wednesday - Weights + Circuit Training
Thursday - Weights + Rugby Training
Friday - Cardio. Could be going for a run, anywhere between 6 and 10 miles. 45 minutes on the cross trainer etc.
Saturday - Golf, probably around 5-6 miles walking with a bag on my back, takes 3.5 hours.
Sunday - Rest

Thanks,

Simon
RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (Miyagi)

I know James, I was just being an arse, really.

I'm sticking to it and seeing what happens. I like the diet very much, it's more of an eating sensibly diet than a 'crash' diet, and that helps. I'm actually looking forward to meal times rather than wondering what I can have, and I do enjoy the cardio.

Having said all that, if I don't lose a pound or two this week someone's going to get it.
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (Miyagi)

 Hi James,

I'm doing 45 minutes on the exercise bike every single morning before anything else, and this week I've started the basic weights from hom routine.

I was just a bit annoyed at not losing a single pound in 8 days having been really strict on the diet and burned 450cals on a bike every morning. That and the fact that I've pm'd a couple of people on these forums asking for some advice and guidance, people who have done it all themselves from a similar state I'm in, and those pm's have been ignored, which I find really disappointing.

Would like to be an inspiration to some people myself one day and there's no way I'd ignore a plea for help, but that's just me.
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (Miyagi)

Well, today was the 8th day on the diet. Weighed myself for the first time, and I've put on 1lb.

Makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it?

Think I might just accept that I'm going to be a fatty forever.
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (James)

 Hi there
I reality, it's not a lot of carbs; though in comparison to a ketogenic approach, it may seem that way. Yes, the idea is to carb cycle and to balance things at the weekend. The idea is to stave off hunger
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (Miyagi)

 I'm doing level 2.

For instance, last night's meal was 50g of Egg Noodles, 100g of lean beef, a reasonable helping of mixed veg and some peas, and I just stuck all of that in to a wok with a teaspoon of Thai spice and a tablespoon of Soy Sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and I'll probably just do the same again today as it was so tasty and quick to make. Literally 15 minutes from start to finish.

But, those egg noodles feel like a lot of carbs to be having. Perhaps it's just because I've previously done the Palumbo diet and that's hardly any carbs whatsoever. I bought a 6 pack of Blue Dragon Egg Noodles in 'nest' shaped single portions, as they work out perfect at 50g a serving and the diet specifies 60g, so it's just enough.

Only been doing it since Sunday, but so far I haven't felt hungry AT ALL during the day, if anything I'm eating more. The evenings (as I told you before) are just broken up by a protein shake around 8.00pm, so that's sorted that out nicely.

I guess what I'm saying is that you have the option to have one slice of wholegrain bread with your breakfast, 2 slices at lunch, then a couple of oatcakes or a cereal bar mid-afternoon, and then noodles, rice, or potatoes for dinner, so to me that seems like a fair bit of carbs to be consuming. Is that just balanced out by Friday to Sunday when there aren't too many consumed? Or is it balanced out by training in the evening? Because I haven't been doing much weight training at the same time yet, I'm just getting used to the new routine before doing so.

Thanks for any help, James, I appreciate it.
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! Like the weight training you mean, or something else?

Seems like quite a lot of carbs throughout Monday - Thursday. Is it designed that way specifically? I'll be honest, I've read quite a bit of the book but not all of it, so I don't know what the breakdown is daily.
Re: RE: HiPaCC :: The Dietary Revolution - new trial results! (James)

 Hi

1) Yes, but any more exercise would be advantageous

2) Yes, it sounds like you would benefit from a little snack here - about 25g museli in skimmed milk on training days, or a 20g whey shake on non-training days

3) It's ok, but keep minimal
