I have tried reflex protein bars a couple of weeks ago and they tasted great. I know you probably get more satisfaction out of making your own but my question is - has anyone worked out an average cost per bar for these?

I'm just wondering whether to bother making my own or just buying them.

Thanks in advance.

Ian.

Apart from the 180 grams whey which is worth £1.80 from myprotein.co.uk all the ingredients are worth more or less around 50p for the portion sizes.

Plus you get 8 bars worth and they are a lot nicer tasting than any protein bar on the market.

Re: RE: NEW RECIPE - High Protein Strawberry Fudge Bars... (stevescholes18)

Using a slight variation on this recipe, I made the other day they where real nice but took forever to mix and seperate from mixing bowl.

Made again today with EXACTLY the same ingredients and measurements. But it mixed easily into a perfect ball type thing no problem, can't understand why it was so much easier than the first time.

Thanks for the recipe gaz they come in very handy at college.

Re: RE: NEW RECIPE - High Protein Strawberry Fudge Bars... (m477hew)

Cant find where I got this recipe from, but when I saw it the quantities were all in cups, I have now tried this and worked it out using grams to make it easier for those who dont have cups:

200g oats
200g clear honey
100g natural peanut butter
2 scoops unflavoured whey

Put the oats and whey into a big mixing bowl
Heat the honey and peanut butter in another bowl, in the microwave until nice and runny
Then combine the honey and oats mixture, use a big wooden spoon to mix and bash it all together
It should all combine into a doughy sort of mix, if not add more honey / oats as appropriate to get consistency right
Shape the dough out into a rectangle or square on some grease proof paper
Allow to cool / set
Cut into 4 and store in an air tight container
Enjoy a soft and tasty flapjack like protein bar!

Each bar contains around 22grams of protein, cant remember how many cals though.

Re: RE: NEW RECIPE - High Protein Strawberry Fudge Bars...
