(No.13)

I'm still alive. I know you were all worried.

I'm training consistently now. Not looking too bad (if I say so) diet is clean the majority of the time too, with the exception of tonights pizza and beer...
Cardio unfortunately has taken abit of a hit, I've attempted to ween myself off my inhalers with mixed success. This is not ideal as I've marked 3rd Decemeber as my Rugby comeback

Complexes have been reintroduced and numbers in general are slowly returning to where I was at pre-move (at a lighter weight).

Trying to be very careful with DL/Squat, especially the latter as I account all previous back pain for poor form. In the last 6 weeks I've not gone over 120/130kg but have probably dabbled with at least 2-3techniques (with some success) and back pain has been eradicated - touchwood. Similarly with DL's, I'm just trying to do more work with the lower weights but with more sets. Hopefully this'll build a strong foundation for the future - something which I've massively overlooked before (ego) and paid for it with all these back issues.

Jim - Cleans were kickstarted again 2 weeks ago! Technique slightly different, but I'm hoping to remain injury/illness free all the way to 120kg Tbh, with the way my triceps have been feeling, I'll probably be cleaning more than I bench soon! Obviously have an odd body type.

Brocks, thanks again for the Owl. Hoot.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... (No.13)

I'm still alive! Finally almost settled.

I'm lighter.
I've lost muscle.
I'm weaker.
I've lost *abit* of belly fat.
And having picked up a couple of colds in the last few weeks, I'm extremely unfit!

Hoping to get back and playing rugby before Xmas so I'm desperate to get myself back in some form of condition.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... May not be the one you had your heart set on but still, onwards and upwards!

Take it that's why the journal is a little empty? Hope everything's going well.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... (No.13)

The job itself is pretty good. And a couple years with the company will certainly stand me in good stead for the future and help with personal development.

It's just that the package is pretty ****
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... (No.13)

 Hopefully yeah!

In other news I've been offered a job with a house builder in Lancaster! The job in Manchester has stalled so I'm left with little option but to accept. Unfortunately it pays less, less annual leave and a longer working week. But hey, it's a step on the employment ladder I guess!

My main concern now is trying to find somewhere to live within the next 3weeks.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... (No.13)

Cheers Brock, it's wonderful. Although if I were being picky, then I'd say that it's slightly out of focus.

DV, your a comic genius buddy

Still 5x5-ing. Also including some short 1-3mile runs at the end of sessions too. Enjoying it so far, leg definition is actually improving even with lighter weights (though I'm not training for aesthetics).
Getting plenty of practice in with high bar squatting. Narrowly missed out on an ebay auction for some old Adistars and lifting belt. Obviously not meant to be.
The best news of all is that I've had none of the back pain I was suffering from before. Not sure whether this is down to the lower weight, lack of front squats and cleans or what. Either way I'm in no hurry for it to return.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside... (No.13)

Alright 13. That routine looks solid. I often find when you have a figure that you are told should progress by week on week, that it's easier to achieve then just going in and seeing if you can lift more or not...if that makes sense!?Whereabouts in manchester are you from mate?

Oh and if you're struggling for motivation, try this...http://gympump.com/

I think if you start below your maxes for a weeks, then it's easier to hit the numbers later on. Having not squatted above 3reps for ages, all these 5's are like cardio now, my knees are slowly adjusting.
Cheers for the website, looks pretty good!

Awww... my reply didn't post.

you weren't missing much, to be honest.

I slagged Deadward off for a bit, and that was about it.

Sounds like a corker, gutted that I missed out.
Re:Time for a kick up the backside...
