I think we realise that we're not going to be that skinny little 20 year old anymore with the pure tight and toned glowing skin so weight training gives us some control over our shape and at least we can enhance the bits we want to.

Just build up some huge biceps and triceps and that will sort the skin out there . I actually have the same issue on my stomach and it causes me grief everytime I get on stage but it's better than the alternative that I used to be.

Good luck with your training and if you've not ventured into the female section yet have a nosey as there is a seminar next month that you might be interested in (thread is stickied at the top of the page there)

Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (Formerly Known as Old Git)

Very well done Val, excellent work - keep it up! ;o)

Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (ValJ)

 Hi Notcosi

Thankyou :)
It makes it all the worse by the bloody name 'bingo wings' - I mean what the hell has 'bingo' got to do with your bloody arms......lol
Well done for getting back into the gym, hope you are enjoying it as much as me.
I think a support group would be great.

If anyone out there has any genius ideas to help us out then we would love to know what you know.

Val x
Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (notcosi)

Hi Val - wow amazing work! I too have terrible bingo wings from losing weight a few years ago! Trying to fill it up with some triceps - very hard work. I am just back at the gym (2 weeks) Maybe we should start a bingo wings support group - it is the one area that I wouls dearly love to get rid of!!!
Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (ValJ)

 Hi NR

I would not consider anything like that. So it was a combination really. I had lost 3 1/2 stone by the time I went to the gym tho, just thought it was time to tone up if I could.
I do have a lot of loose skin, and now generally wear tops with sleeves to my elbows, and my bingo wings are awful.
Of course I am healthier and fitter, but when you do these things at age 53, there is another form of damage......how your body is going to look afterwards.
I now know that I have to put in the time in the gym to improve my shape. And oh yes I am looking to build some muscles as well.

I am so enjoying reading through everything in this Forum, and your all so wonderful. It's great to find a community that wants what you want, and is there to give you a bit of support every now and then......so thanks.

Val x

Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (tosh124)

Valj, that’s an incredible achievement, well done!
as NR, do you have a diet plan you could share?
Re:ANY PHOTO'S OF before and after 40s to 50s Please (Northern Rocker)

wow, missed this, Val, that's excellent work !
