He may very well grow on 2500kcals. Why on earth dose he need 200g of chicken a day? Plus he may not care if it's not interesting or have a sauce. Varitey is overated. If he varies veg and meat over the weeks no probs. Now I do think £20 is tough going indeed, but double it? But I am curous so will try and figure out a shopping list; 1kg oats- £1 (less probably) Skimmed milk powder 500g- £1.50 Cheap supermarket weetabix- £1 1kg Mince- £5 Rice- £1 Cheese 400g- £3 Olive oil- £2 That's a total of approx £15 so far. Then spend £5 on fruit and veg (get some cheap frozen stuff). You could make up a 1kcal smoothy every day with the oats, milk powder, oil and banana. That's a good % of what the OP needs right there. Now that's off the top of my head. I am sure others can make even more savings. Again £20 seems tough going but getting close is def doable for a lighter gentlemen.

want food shop can you get them from mate
Re:£20 Bulking Diet (Red Bull)

At 57kg mate, I'd just eat everything and anything. It was 50p or £1 more for a big plstic tub - but since i stick them in bags and freeze i may as well save the cash.

There were 24 breasts in my pack and on average they were 200g each. I tend to put 4 together in a freezer bag and whack them in the chest freezer out in my shed.

The quality is absolutely fine. They are no cornfed chicken breast by any means - but they are comparable to all other non-speciality breasts i have had.

We did try a big 10kg box of frozen chicken breasts from Makro a few months back but they were full of added water/salt etc. You could tell straight away when you cooked them how much fluid they lost and how much smalle they were after cooking.

Honestly if you have a Makro or a Bookers available nearby i would suggest spending a score and testing. I've done a back to back test with chicken from the supermarket, farmers market, and a quality local butcher and if there was a difference it was imperceptible to me

I'm cooking up another four in a while so i'll see if i can get a decent photo or two in case you can spot something i can't.

Lovely with a bit of salt/pepper & either some herbs or some spices of sorts.
Re:£20 Bulking Diet (All4n)

Indeed. 750g would make more sense. On top of those basics you'll also want to buy the essentials for introducing a bit of variety and flavour to your food; oils, herbs & spices, tinned beans and tomatoes.

If you wander into (insert preferred chain supermarket here) and pickup the things mentioned above you may very well be nearer to £30 a week before you even start.
Re:£20 Bulking Diet (All4n)

dannyboy84

how u going to bulk on that? my missus eat more than that and she 8 st. all so very bland id eat that for 1 day and be bored.

It's not so bland when you add the soup/beans/tinned tomatoes etc. Who said a bulking diet on budget had to be anything but bland anyway? It's going to be a price you have to pay at least to a certain extent. I can't eat the finest steak as it's expensive, but i'll make the sacrifice thanks.

You're 8st bird eats over 3000 cals per day? Lucky she has a fast metabolism huh? Or does a lot of exercise.

The OP weighs 68kg. My diet works out about 250g protein, 300g carbs and 100g fat. It's possible it'll make him fat anyway. So how is the OP going to bulk on that? Very easily i'd presume, where's your alternative then showing us your wisdom on how it's done?

Re:£20 Bulking Diet (iaink)

So your misses really eats 200g of mince as part of her evening meal, and 200g of oats during the day? Another 60p per day perhaps. Also no healthy fats, but fats are expensive. Add some mixed nuts/seeds each day about 50g? So about another 50p per day? Prob less. But that brings total to about £2 or so a day? £2.50 a day is £17.50. I await my bad maths to be highlighted Prices mostly from asda (smart price). Very good value in my opinion!

When you buy in bulk one thing then everything else you get you will get a discount on so just buy alot at once so make that £20 - £40 for one shop and then you'll have meat to last you a good few weeks!

I'm a student so budgeting for me i like to think is one of my fortes.
Re:£20 Bulking Diet (dazc)

would benefit from some fruit though, im not sure you would get a full spectrum of everything from just frozen veg

Re:£20 Bulking Diet (dazc)

 gold star for allen!

two gold stars for anyone that can eat that diet everyday for more than a week! lmao!

i hate to think what some of that stuff tastes like at those prices! lol

Re:£20 Bulking Diet (All4n)

 Protein
Whey/casein blend £8 per kg = 20p per 25g scoop
10p per egg?
Minced beef £3 per kg
Tinned tuna steak 50p per 150g (drained weight) tin

Carbs
Oats 50p/kg
Rice £1.50/kg
Pasta 85p per kg

Veg
Frozen veg £1 per kg

meal 1: 4 eggs (40p) + 100g oats (5p) + 1 scoop whey/casein (20p) = 65p
meal 2: 1 tin tuna (50p) + 100g rice (30p) + 200g veg (20p) = £1.18
meal 3: 2 scoops whey/casein (40p) + 100g oats (5p) = 45p
meal 4: 200g minced beef (60p) + 100g pasta (8.5p) + 200g veg (20p) = 98.5p

£1.04p

Probs lacking some serious flavour so say add some tins of tomatoes/beans/soup etc all about 30p each.
