I lost one of mine the same way but had to search for him. The council had him all the time in a bag in the freezer!! It's not until they go that you realise how attached you get to the little blighters!!

Re:RIP Sophie (Tony Barnes)

I'm not sure if a lol is appropriate or not...?!? Are they all ok now? Sophie was quite withdrawn when Elliott died a couple of years ago. Now it's Henry (the dog) who is wondering where his friend has gone.

Gibbers - if no number then you can either call the council or take it to a vet to check if it's chipped. With regards to taking it back to the owner, personally I'd far rather the person who did it to actually do this - though an owner would no doubt be angry at you for what you did, it's an accident, and your actions afterwards are important. Driving off = wanker.
Re:RIP Sophie (gibbers)

I dont know what i would do if i ran over a cat to be honest, if it didnt have a number on it etc then what would you do with it ?

Plus the owner could be some nutter and may want to beat the crap out of you
Re:RIP Sophie (James)

Tony Barnes

Sorry to hear that James - was that the one that disappeared for a few weeks previously? I hate it when people just ignore animals like that. Squirrels, rabbits, etc, fair does, but pets?

Well it was a few days before we discovered that she was dead. It was not the same as this happy ending for her sister Blackier

Re:RIP Sophie (Tony Barnes)

If you hit a dog I think you're legally obliged to try and sort the situation - call owner or take to nearest vet. Not so for cats. I may be wrong though, just sounds familiar.

As for bills I guess you could be liable? Again, sod knows.

As for who to call - Sophie had 1 id tag on her with my number on it, and 1 id holder with my number in it. She was also chipped with my number held by the chip operators. Basically if they had bothered to stop they could of contacted me quite easily.
Re:RIP Sophie (Tony Barnes)

Sorry to hear that James - was that the one that disappeared for a few weeks previously?
