I have no problem talking about it either, but I don't want to hijack Tucs' thread.

I have a great many mouth and throat related OCD disorders. Kissing however is just plain nasty mate. How anyone can get pleasure from letting someone spit in their mouths is beyond me.

You must love rimming then?

Kissing is simply a sign of relaxed oral hygiene in my opinion. People just get caught up in the moment and don't think about all that saliva and food that they're consuming from someone elses' mouth. However, I cannot help but think that rimming indicates some form of mental illness.

I'm not a mental health professional so I may be wrong on that one. It's just my own opinion.

I have recently heard about something called velching. I sincerely hope it's an urban myth. If human beings actually get pleasure from such activities then I am truly lost for words. To even consider engaging in this repugnant pursuit, one must not only be mentally ill, but also under the influence of veterinary strength medication.
Re:is there a name for this fear I have (badladmark)

 PMSL@ Reborn
Re:is there a name for this fear I have (Reborn)

jango

Blue_Lagoon3000

Jango do you mind if i ask why you are scared of kissing? I really agreed with that and found it true.

Last night I did pretty well, normally at night my little routine of checking probably takes about 10-15 minutes, I cut it down to about 2-3 minutes last night, ie. checking the taps were off once and not 8, 16, 32, 64 times etc.

it's funny when you know something is unreasonable behaviour, but you still do it
Re:is there a name for this fear I have (tac)

The standard diagnostic test for OCD is the YBOCS, you can self-administer it, theres an online version here:

YBOCS

Try reading Brain Lock by Jeffrey Schawrtz (not sure of the spelling of the name).

Excellent book (by a Dr that is also an OCD sufferer), explains what goes on with OCD and gives a very straightforward 4 step programme (using cognitive-behavioural, relaxation and meditiation/awareness techniques) for dealing with it that can be used on a self-help basis
Re:is there a name for this fear I have (Wasp)

You get it when you're stressed mate.

Re:is there a name for this fear I have (CalderaVII)

tuc biscuit

going out of the house of to bed can turn into a right palava (sp?) for me, checking everything is off and secure, if I am feeling generally anxious for any reason it is much worse, sometimes it is ok, sometimes I have made improvments by exposing myself to my fears (ie. only allowing myself to check the back door once etc.) but then if something happens I go back to square one quickly

my gf is so casual as well, leving lights on overnight, candles burning, gas cooker dials barely turned off etc. and that makes me worse

I use to have the same problem Tuc and understand what you're experiencing. I have always considered it just a bit of anxiety and OCD. The things I needed to check was making sure all main electric items were off, all appliances that will not be used often turned off at the socket, turning all lights off, checking the cooker and gas is off and also making sure all doors are locked. If I didn't do this I would feel incomplete and needed to do it to have peace of mind.

Eventually, over the past couple of years I have looked at what I did from a wider picture and tried to rationalise with myself what I was doing and why. To cut a long story short, nowadays before I go to bed I still check the lights, doors and gas/cooker once but it's alot more relaxed and normal instead obsessively checking everything.

Re:is there a name for this fear I have (Blue_Lagoon3000)

jango

Blue_Lagoon3000

Jango do you mind if i ask why you are scared of kissing?
