You have the option not to do it. Even as a juror i had to be honest and choose to take the option not to swear on the bible as i think it's a load of very old fairy stories.

Can't recall the specific details but it was basically a pledge to tell the truth and do the right thing etc.

Why is it that have to put your hand on the bible when in court and what would happen if u refuse
I have been in court a few times and everytime ive had to do this and ive never questioned it before
I dont believe in god so the next time im in court and the judge asks me to do this,they will be getting told to get the fuk as i dont believe in all that stuff
I would think that i have a right to do this
