I think this new section should be re positioned to the top of the general forums. It gets lost right at the bottom. Most people will look for general and most know where it is positioned anyway but for new posters and even regulars, this new section stuck right at the bottom is a bit hidden

Good idea - and we've done just that!

Thanks to all for your feedback here. We can't have it right at the top, but we can have it at the top of the General sub-section, which is what we've done.

You'll have noticed the Bodybuilding Competitions forum has now migrated to Specific Sections and we've a new section for our Advertisers' own sub-forums

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here.

Would it not be better to remove it from the General Section and create its own section especially for welcoming new members at the top of the board, above D&N?

I think this would promote more welcome threads as well as make for much easier viewing, as its current position fails to stand out much from my view of it.

This isn't possible as certain sections need to be positioned at the top.

ha, not better.. whatever you had planned I am sure would work. I just think that new title is more appropriate and will get more response from people looking to introduce themselves

I like the idea its good , but why not call it "Introduce yourself" ? if I was new I would click into it and introduce myself, I would just discard a link that said Welcome to Muscletalk as I would assume it had nothing of interest

Just my opinion obviously, but that is what the page is afterall? - introducing yourself to others. why not make it obvious and in your face .

Good point and one Jason has raised. We're considering an alterantive title.

are tedious.

If people aren't encouraged to say a little about themselves, threads are boring and members won't read them and then new members won't get many replies and think they forum isn't that welcoming.

I disgaree. They're friendly and encourgae new people to make a hello post there, then a constructive post in antoher forum

We've decided to include a 'welcome lounge' on MT due to requests from members.

You can see the new 'Welcome to MuscleTalk' forum below General on the front page.

So, now new members can post a simple 'hello' or a bit of information about themselves, and others can post to greet them. Also, members who haven't psoted for some time can announce their comeback!

Hope everyone find's this new section useful.
