If you have gained that much weight in a year then I suggest that it is more fat than you think. Naturally (ie no juice!) the estimated top limit of muscle mass increase for a year is 5kg.

The best way to achieve and maintain a '6 pack' withou CV is by creating a calorific deficit. As you are bulking this is pretty much impossible.

You could avoid carbs before training, which will have some impact, however, this will mean you will have low energy when training. I've seen a few lads do it before, but they looked terrible (grey skin, bags under eyes etc) yet did well in competition. Piled the pounds back on straight after though as the body is in semi starvation mode.

Short answer, no. :s

Re:Achieving/Maintaining six pack while Bulking (yungdest81)

Well you'd need low bodyfat for them to show, if you're bulking I doubt that will happen.

Achieving/Maintaining six pack while Bulking (Ian4996)

I'm in the middle of a year long bulk (due to a bad knee injury, I can't do much cardio so might as well keep bulking and only cut once my knee's better).
I've put on nearly a stone and a half so far, with probably a stone of muscle and half a stone of fat. I've done no abs work at all in this time and my abs have totally disappeared, with a bit of a belly but not much. I'm thinking of starting back on the abs work again but am unsure if its worth the effort as I'm not sure if they'd actually show at all until I start cutting in a few months - any opinions??
