Betta Bodies has churned out some decent BBers only 5mins away in a car.

Night life, Ashton has some little clubs full of teenie boppers... Stalybridge is near by and slightly better but still over run by scallie types. Manchester is 7 miles down the road and has everything you could ask for.
Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (tuc biscuit)

Paracelsus

tuc biscuit

it also has an ikea that you can spend many happy weekends trailing round deciding which cutlery will give you a better life

Got lost in there with my GF a few weeks ago, horrible, horrible place

I think the metrolink is being extended to there as well at some point so access to Manchester will be even easier.

It's being extended to oldham at least, didn't know it was going to ashton too, sweet

seems ashton is not yet agreed, but likely qccording to my sources

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (boar)

yup , OSG is the best around and pretty cheap to join also dirty great big ikea across the road

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (Paracelsus)

tuc biscuit

it also has an ikea that you can spend many happy weekends trailing round deciding which cutlery will give you a better life

Got lost in there with my GF a few weeks ago, horrible, horrible place

I think the metrolink is being extended to there as well at some point so access to Manchester will be even easier.

It's being extended to oldham at least, didn't know it was going to ashton too, sweet

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (tuc biscuit)

it also has an ikea that you can spend many happy weekends trailing round deciding which cutlery will give you a better life

I think the metrolink is being extended to there as well at some point so access to Manchester will be even easier.

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (Paracelsus)

My girlfriend lives there, I think the town is ok for shopping and stuff, one or two good places for drinking if you're into rock/metal/weird stuff like the Witchwood. As said, it has an excellent gym (2 mins from the Witchwood incidentally, perfect for a PWO beer)
Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (doc)

the place itself is a bit of a **** hole, and the town centre is full of mongs and bagheads

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (Rob.S)

I've heard (like has already been mentioned on this thread) thaty the olympic gym is excellent.
as for nightlife it is non-existant. Manchester is your best bet for that.

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (sivvy1)

 wel, yea

LOOL
Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (TONY)

sivvy1

olympic sport gym is one of the best gyms i have ever been to!!

All be it a very short visit that ended with you being taken away in an ambulance!

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (mr_pink)

Thanx lads run down i can deal with wont actualy be trading up like lol

The apartments look nice but going to see friday anyone can make anything look nice in a photo

Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (sivvy1)

olympic sport gym is one of the best gyms i have ever been to!!
Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (Varg)

It's just a few miles from Manchester.
I don't know it well myself although I do drive through when I cross the Pennines.
It doesn't look like the kind of place which would have much nightlife but I could be wrong.
Re:Ashton-Under-Lyne (Total Rebuild)

Yep, Manchester is ten mins on the train, if that. As for Ashton, I pass through it on the train twice a day and it looks a bit run down. Pretty sure thats just the bits you can see from the train though. I'm sure there are good and bad areas as with all towns.
