sd on low carb diet? 08 February 2012 12:11 (permalink)
anybody been game enough to give this a blast??? I'm fooking tempted lol

I know everybody says sd is 'carb hungry n sh1t' but is it really???? There's plenty of people (mainly american forums granted) that have run sd, dbol and test cycles on a keto diet so surely if your eating enough protein couldn't decent gains be achieved??

I'm currently trying to lose alot of fat gained over the past 6mths due to not training, would running a lose dose of say 10mg -15mg a day for 3wks help me harden up abit while losing the fat??? I haven't lost that much muscle mass due to my injury just put on the fat around the stomach and chest (moobs r' us) lol just to note, I've used sd in the past and know the drill with regards to supps, diet and pct... and when I say on a low carb diet I mean on 80-100grms of complex carbs a day.

any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

i've read threads that suggest this too - i've not tried it but any outcome from a cycle is training & diet dependent

if you do end up suffering with sides due to low carbs will you be prepared to up them to finish the cycle? if so give it a go & keep us informed of your progress

by sides do you mean lethargy? if so I'm prepared just to stick it out, without upping the carbs, I'm not working at present so could squeeze a nap or 2 in during the day if needed lol   I think I will give it a go, but there's bound to be someone on here that has give it a go or at least know's someone who has.

        the point is different..

sd is a potent mass builder.
you don't need to use an high card protocol like 50-30-20, because even a middle in carb 30-50-20 works well (even better for someone like me) if you want put some solid mass, but if you want to cut why use sd?

        you have far better choice...
cut is 99% diet, in top of that you can choose another compound for retain as much strength as possible but pick sd will not bring you to the next level of cutting.

You can use what ever sort of diet you want as far as I am concerned just ensuring your calorie goals are met and that protein is high to make use of the increased protein synthesis.

                I wouldnt use SD....personaly
                two reasons..........
you wont loose much bodyfat in 3-4 weeks which is a typical superdrol cycle
You hold water on superdrol......in our gym we call it Bloatdrol, even though its not sposed to cause anywater weight it did for me and all my friends. so for me itl be difficult to guage the effectivenes of the cut with water retention there.

                Anavar

They are perfect cutting aas in my book, hard look with little lethargy.

However try it if you want!!!!!! whats the worst that could happen.

The 'carb hungry' thing is bollocks, or if it's not bollocks it certainly doesn't apply if you're doing a low carb diet because the whole point of a low carb diet is that your body ceases to use gylcogen for energy when it goes into ketosis.

Anyway regardless of whether the above analysis is correct or not, I have just finished 3 weeks of SD while cutting and I got on absolutely fine. Felt far better on it this time than when I was bulking with it.

Would be inclined to do 20mg the first week too.

I believe a lot of the water retention suggestion can be combatted with good vitamin c and high water intake and would almost certainly be less when carbs are not being shovelled.

I would not personally use SD for a cut but see no harm in running low carb if looking to increase the lean nature of gains.

How much carbs are you eating in that diet? When I did it I was (and still am) doing keto. So zero carbs (except targeted around training). So the point I'm making I guess is that if you eat close to zero carbs and you go into ketosis, your body stops using glycogen for energy, so therefore carb sensitivity is taken out of the equation so the 'carb hungry' aspect of SD (if such a thing exists) is negated. If you are still eating some carbs you may find you are not in ketosis. I imagine it would still be fine, but I have only done it while eating zero carbs so I couldn't say.

this is more of what I wanted to hear ck lol what do you think of the diet I'm on though for giving it a go? If I do I'll probably go 10/20/20mg a day on the sd I did this same split while bulking last year and had no sides either.

I imagine it would still be fine, but I have only done it while eating zero carbs so I couldn't say.

on non training days around 100 and training days around 130 due to the oats before gym.

Would be inclined to do 20mg the first week too.

I believe a lot of the water retention suggestion can be combatted with good vitamin c and high water intake and would almost certainly be less when carbs are not being shovelled.

I would not personally use SD for a cut but see no harm in running low carb if looking to increase the lean nature of gains.

water intake would be high that's a given will add in vitamin c as well if decide to do it

Depending on the person, theoretically you can get into keto eating 75-100g carbs. But if keto is your intention then it would be far better to aim for less carbs than more, because veg and carbs from whey and things like that all add up. If you are going to cut out those carbs, I would also up fat intake.

You hold water on superdrol......in our gym we call it Bloatdrol, even though its not sposed to cause anywater weight it did for me and all my friends. so for me itl be difficult to guage the effectivenes of the cut with water retention there.

Really? I was always under the impression that SD was a 'dry' compound, hence why so many people experience sore joints from it. I certainly never noticed any bloat or water retention from it!
