shorter rests between early sets, and more rest between later sets? what do you think about it? for example i am to do 3 sets 8 reps. My first set of 8 is hard but i dont go to failure. i rest 1.5 minutes and do my second set which is harder but i also dont go to failure, then I rest 2.5 minutes and go all out.

sounds fine to me. I think its common for people to rest longer on later sets.

Take rest between sets as you need it, as long as it's enough to recover and allow you to prepare for for the net set it's OK, it's not unusual to need a little extra rest towards the last sets, especially when lifting heavy.
