Just joking mate - had all sorts of issues with my gym - no squat rack being the tip of the iceberg!!

Just revel in the knowledge that your thighs are bigger and you are already at the better gym with people who know what they are talking about.

i know but i just dont know how people can get paid to a do a job that are actually incompetent at!

the first thing u would put in a gym is a power rack/ squat rack

not arguing with potential members that a smith machine is better

they get defensive of criticism, they wanna make out like they're brand spanking new gym is perfect. you'd like to think they'd be open to feedback but doesnt always work that way. mine is a commercial gym and theyre planning to get a 2nd squat rack and more plates and olympic bars cos of the demand for them. cant wait for that

LOL I bet they had invested enough money in the restaurant area though, so that people can have a nice espresso and surf the wifi on thier iPads after they have done a few minutes on the X-Trainer.

You're lucky then, I went for a look round David Lloyd, there was no seated calfs, standing calfs, donkey calfs, lying hamstring curls, no hack squat, its almost as though people there didnt know you were supposed to train legs.

I prefer my garage. Cage, Olympic weights, heavy pro style dumbbell discs for dumbbell bars, leg and lat tower attachments, semi commercial bench, exercise bike (admittedly a **** one) skipping rope, press up handles, heavy grippers and a medicine ball. Got a lifting belt and wrist/elbow supports as well. Oh and a loud stereo for some seriously loud metal when working out. What more do you need and no gym membership?? I could do with some more cv equipment and I want a squat Watson safety bar mind. The gym I left only had a smiths, leg press, extension and curl machine but no barbells for legs. Why is this a growing trend in these commercial gyms? something to do with training i.e basic gym courses don't include power lifting?? Or is it insurance or maybe they think 7ft barbells are dangerous?? Makes me wonder.

Got it all on 0% finance and had £400 saved up for xmas, cancelled my gym membership and will be putting this money up into my saving account so when the interest is about to be added I'll have enough to pay for it. After this point I'll be making money. http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/ do interest free. Do need the space mind..
