taking protein to usa

Hi Im of to florida for a few weeks and will be training whilst there is it ok to take protein through us customs as they are a  funny about importing food.

AS long as its all in main luggage and not hand luggage and only enough for personal use you should be fine. Like if youre going for a 1-2 weeks, take enough in small tubs to last roughly 1-2 weeks. Not whole tubs. Ive done this with no problems wherever ive travelled, and they dont bother questioning after they scan your luggage.

i was just going to take a 1kg pouch of phd pharma whey 

why bother ?
 
Your trying to take  protein to the country that has more supps than anywhere in the world.
 
And a part of the US Florida that has supp stores on every corner lol
 
Id be more worried about what i could bring back in my suitcase

good point redwing ive had a quick look online but i can only find a gnc store but its a bit out of my way but im sure there will be something a bit closer.

Never had an issue anywhere I have travelled Including

Food - they could confiscate it.I've seen apples confiscated i.e. eat it or bin it. From Mexico back into US.
 
If there for a few weeks buy some stuff over there - a kilo will not last long.
 
Plus think of all the food you can eat - makes me question if the whey is a necessity! LOL

USA is full of places to eat good at a good price! If you still need wehey protein there's supp stores everywhere.
 
However if you cannot be parted with the whey you bought in the UK i should be okay. However as started above they could easily confiscate it if they wanted too.

yes there will be , I dont know what part your going but they have loads . Also dont forget the gyms they all sell whey in them as well.

don't put any food in your hand luggage- I went to JFK airport and took a muffin off the plane, put it in a carrier bag with my duty free and I had a sniffer dog walk up to me and sit down and do the 'look' to its owner. He asked me if I had any fruit in my bag, and I said I didn't but I think with various agricultural issues they are hotter on the fruit / veg than I would have imagined. They didn't fine me, just took the muffin away etc.
Definitely listen to the other poster- put whey in the main suitcase and you are fine. I did that last year for california and hawaii. You can buy supplelements in GNC but it was predominantly Bodytronics, BSN, Nature's best when I was in Hawaii.

order some online and just get it delivered to your hotel for when you arrive
