Overdue MOT test
12 May 2007 11:08
( permalink)
I have just realised that my mot test is overdue. So i have booked it into the garage this morning. By the time it gets tested it will be two weeks overdue! I realise that it is illegal to drive the car to anywhere other than to the mot testing station to be tested, but apart from that when i get to the garage should i expect any hassel? or extra fees? or should it make no difference to the garage? Cheers

as the others said garage wont say anything. just to clarify a point you made the law states that you can drive a car without an MOT to a garage for its MOT test BUT only if it has been prebooked (e.g. not just turning up even if its a while you wait place, must be pre booked at all times). and secondly must be a recognised MOT station ORIGINAL: mgs I have just realised that my mot test is overdue. Had my MOT done yesterday and it was slightly overdue but no problems. They did ask me if I had the previous MOT with me, which I did not. Prices seem to vary, maximum they can charge for a car is about £50, mine was £40 which I thought was reasonable (although have seen the price gradually go up over the years from £20 for my first car) Wonder how much others pay for MOTs?
