Wide Grip Pull up vs Narrow Grip pull up

What's the difference? (except narrow seems easier!)

Thanks!

what grip front or back ..  i find with a front grip to close a grip will use the biceps alot more .. wheras a nice wide grip really hits the lats !!

well like mike said wat grip are you using?

overhand wide - targets upper/lower lats
overhand close - upper lats/middle back

    underhand wide - inner bicep/lats
underhand close - outer bicep/ lats

    Thanks for that.

I'm using a gravitron machine without the weights. It has parallel bars to hold; rather than one single bar.

I think it's closest to underhand close - which is bicep and lats.

    Cheers!

think you would be better off just using a regular chin up straight bar mate

    medium grip is best IMHO
you can still get full ROM and keep it mostly lats

narrow gets too much bicep involved and wide reduces ROM and you can not add as much weight

A muscle that's weak in isolation will be weak in integration.

    How about parallel grip?
I feel it in biceps and middle back more than lats compared to wide overhand grip

Believe it or not my gym doesn't have a normal pull up bar, just a gravitron machine.

It was good at first because I couldn't do ten pull ups - but now I just want a normal bar, so I can choose between different grips.

As a rule wide grip is for the outside of your lats, whilst narrow grip more the middle of your back, but depending on which way your grip is, narrow can also put a lot of work onto your bicepts
