You are in fantastic shape jb. IMHO you are doing too many exercises (but you can tell me to shut up as you look good off it). Lessen the exercises (one for each bodypart only) and make it harder. Also, some hard cardio work is needed - present research suggests that we should train shorter but harder as we get older, so long as you have no congenital health problems.

But like I said, whatever you're doing is working. I am just trying to save unneccessary workout time.

I am going to take on board what you are saying, I have this week hit a "Plateau".
I will cut the exercises down, thanks.

An interesting consideration was posed to me a while ago - are you in this good shape because of the routine or despite the routine. Meaning that maybe we need to look at exercise like a pill - you take just enough to do the job then stop

MC222, Good question, answer don't know, I train 3 times a week now, was thinking of changing too 5 times a fortnight allowing more recovery and having that much more enthusiasm when training. When I get back to the UK I am going to give this a go.

Good question, no idea: I am going to try 5 training sesions a fortnight instead of 3 per week and see if it gives better results.

Looking good JOHNNYBRECKS! Hey, what Oaken said about TRT is dead on.   I'm 56 yr. old and started TRT last year in December. I receive a 200mg/ml shot every two weeks.  When I exercise, I feel "the pump" in my muscles and the tightness feels great.  My muscles feel hard as rocks! NO BS!  What are you doing for your legs and midsection???

I am on my new routine now 4 workouts in 8 days ( Mon/Wed/Fri/Mon) and alternating them each week, so 8 different workout routines.
Legs get "Step-ups with Dumbbells and Deads"
I aways start with the X Trainer for warm-up and
Midsection at the end with weighted twists and Ball rolls ( side to side ) back flexes and stretching/hanging for the Back.
I have just started a cycle of Fadogia/6 Bromo with Milk thistle and 3000 Mg of Omega 3.
                      3 doses a day.
I now put a lot of training in using Chins and Pull-ups and Dips, these exercises I find very hard compared to just weight shifting.
Seems to be good so far.

As far as I know you have to be on a POSITIVE calorie intake to gain muscle you CANNOT gain muscle when losing fat unless you're a complete newbie which your not.

If you want some inspiration that you can still do it and at a good level.. Check out Odd Haugen, he's 62 and I saw him lifting the other day against other guys far younger. He is still world class in many ways, and still big.
