PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, March 13, 2012 -* The IFBB Pro League, in conjunction with Joe Weider’s Olympia Weekend, announced the creation of the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series, a points-based system that will help determine qualifiers for all six IFBB Pro Olympia divisions.

The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will award points to competitors placing in the top 2 to 5 of all Pro League events. At the end of the Olympia qualifying season, the five (5) competitors with the highest points totals in the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will qualify to compete at Olympia Weekend.

Since the winner of each competition automatically qualifies, no points will be awarded for first place. Additionally, competitors placing in the top 5 at the Olympia automatically qualify for the following year.

The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series will be effective immediately, and point totals for all 2012 contests will be included. *

I wonder if any of the British PRO's will compete in our IFBB Pro show in Finland in September?
 
As it's the first year it may be there best chance ever to qualify for the Mr Olympia..

Interesting move - in order to get to the Olympia, if you don't win a qualifier, you have to have achieved the best score throughout the qualifiers.
 
i.e. you have to get in shape more times.
 
i.e. by the time you get to the Olympia you'll be burnt out...

better than a 3rd place pro at a 3rd tier show qualifying!!

theres never going to be a perfect system for qualification.  however you do it, there are compromises.
 
Best test of the new system will be the olympia at the end of the year, to see whos qualified and how they look!

But do they allow 3rd placers, at 3rd tier shows to qualify for the Olympia? I thought it was only first place qualified, except for maybe the biggest shows (Arnold, NYPro, Flex etc?)

if the 1st/2nd place bodybuilder has already qualified, the 3rd place guy gets it

looked like cecil was just doing the bottom part of the rep and khan just did the top part....combined they did a full one!!
