insulin - how do you dose?

if I wanted to use 2ius of novorapid, what would that look like on the insluin pen?

The pen should have 2iu clearly marked, on an insulin syringe it is hardly anything mate,

going to be very difficult with a syringe but i dont even think you would notice 4 iu novorapid if you were 2 iu out.

As above the pen should have an index of settings on it so you can dose each injection.

That's what I'm using. I'm doing 10iu's twice a week after a workout, a routine suggested somewhere on this forum. Not been doing it too long so hard to report results, but watch this space....

thanks guys - I haven't got a pen only insulin needle.
 
what i need to know is what is 2iu, 4iu, 6iu and 8iu on the needle?  I'm confused

iu's are International Units. Start low and work your way up. This is the article that got me started:

With my pen I simply turn the knob at the end until I reached the desired no of iu's and simply jab it in. I started doing 2iu's then 4 then 6 then 8 then 10iu's. The pen comes with a preinstalled 300iu cartridge.

Thanks - so on an insulin needle, 2 iu is the first tiny little line on the side.  10iu = 0.1?
 
 

Yes, for insulin, yes. 1ml(1cc)=100iu's. That's why they're so thin, it' easier to gauge amounts. Imagine trying to administer 10iu's from 5ml barrel....
