green tea - 12 October 2009 09:18 ( #1 )
hi all

i have read in varoius posts ppl adding green tea to there diet...

what would be the recomendations for this, and what benefits does it have to training and diet. etc
as a pesron that does not drink a lot of hot drinks, no tea or coffee, except for the occasional cup of hot water i wasnt sure weather to give this a go.

is it best to drink traditional green tea or one with an added flavour to it?

thanks

Green tea contains catechins which is thought to have some health benefits, and help weight loss. It is a stronger antioxidant than black tea.  You could include a green tea drink midday and midafternoon.  If you don't want the drinks you could have green tea extract in capsule form.  The flavoured teas are quite nice if you don't like the flavour of normal green tea.

Green tea has next to no noticable benefits with regards to weight loss.

A lot of web sites claim it does though? Some of them are independant as well as opposed to companies selling them.

Might have a look for some studies

There are numerous studies to show green tea, and other natural fat burners such as white tea or oolong tea have fat burning effects. I don't think it makes a difference on whether they're flavoured or not.

You can also drink cold :-)

How did you like the Green Tea?

I squirt lemon juice in my lemon flavoured tea, that's the only thing that makes it bearable for me!!
