Pyramid training the triceps

Hello all, quick question. I was bored in the gym the other day so thought I'd mix up my training a bit. Instead of doing 3 sets of 30kg on the cable kick downs, I thought I'd try and pyramid starting at 25kg x 8, then 20kg x 8, 15kg x 8, 10kg x 8, 5kg x 8, 10kg x 8, 20kg x 8. I did this 3 times and my triceps felt hammered afterwards and were feeling very pumped. Just wondering whether this is a good way of training or whether my arms were feeling hammered just because I had overtrained them. I had a 5-10 sec rest between each set.

I always think mixing up the training is a good thing. I wouldn't do this every week, but it's worth throwing it in every few weeks
