Bikini Class Questions....????

Was speaking to my gf last night and looking on the net and she's really wanting to have a go at competing in the bikini class as she loves the look.
 
It won't be til later on in the year, prob about october time as we go on holiday mid june so coming back from that will give her a good time to prep.
 
Has anyone got any more info on the class or can shed any light on it as I'm a little clueless.

hi mate, you could have a look at the ukbff website, for the guidelines, but id say the best way is going to be to get along to a few of the early shows and see what is winning the comps, and that will tell you what kind of look the judges are going for

Had a few looks at the site mate and been speaking to few people.  I think the thing that could possibly go against her is her boob job due to not many of the girls being big in that dept.  Well it could go in her favour but will have to see.

depends mate, winners of BF have routinely had implants, reading what has been written about the classes, then implants (or i guess large natural breasts??)  can help enhance the overall effect, and its been suggested that they may be pretty necessary, certainly at a finals level.

BUT, the caveat to that was that they needed to be in proportion, so if once dieted down they are a little on the large side, then it could potentially drop a few marks.  But, personally id say just go for it, get to the sort of tone level needed and take a punt at a show.  the rest is out of yours and lucys hands.  If its not rewarded, well she will have done the show, and be in the shape of her life anway!

She has wide hips so I think they'll enhance her shape more and work with what she's got.  Plus her waist is tiny.

I'm just dreading her prep moods lol

Plan is, get her back into training so she feels good for holiday and is back into a routine then get someone to prep her for the show as the one we've looked at is the UKBFF Mid-lands show on 25th of sept.  This gives her 14 weeks from our holiday to get on stage

she shouldnt have prep moods as the look for bikini is NOT ripped or ultra skinny..it shouldnt need a diet that goes beyond healthy...

@Liz, the prep mood thing is just a little private joke between me and my gf.  I've been a proper pain in the bum the last few days and she said she'd love to get her own back lol

get her doing physique and THEN you'll know the wrath of diet moods!!!

she has my sympathy anyway, NOT NICE living with a dieting bbr.....not nice at all.....

haha, She's the only girl I know who hardly has a wrath although no doubt a physique prep would bring it out in her.

I've said sorry quite a lot to her in the last week or 2 as I've been a horrible person to be around and she takes everything I've thrown at her

On a side not, her's where she is at the min (see attch) not much fat on tummy but mainly on legs, she's not confident enough to post a full shot just yet but maybe in a few weeks once her diet and training are in full swing

John, bring her along to the GBP Expo - the Amateur Olympia will feature the bikini class there and will give you both a great insight

I was trying to get down but I have work commitments mate.  Gutted tbh, I'll be at the bodypower this year though on the sunday

I competed in the UKBFF Stars of Tomorrow 2010 comp which was the 2nd time they'd run the bikini division.
 
Both the girl who won the debut bikini class at the Hercules, and the one who won the Stars comp have had boob jobs so I'm sure that's not going to count against your g/f in the slightest, in fact I think it will be an advantage!
 
I think as it's a new category the jury is still out on what exactly is being looked for in a contestant but I think that unlike the US where the athletes tend to be quite muscular, the emphasis is on smooth tone rather than visible muscles - bikini athletes need to look like they exercise and workout to keep fit but not excessively.
 
I'm sure your girlfriend will do really well.  Feel free to PM me if she needs any more info but I'd definitely recommend she try out one of the UKBFF bikini shows as they're run so well :-)

I have just come across your thread...how's your gf preparation coming along? Is she still planning to compete on Sept 25th?
I am trying to get ready as well for my first bikini comp possibly in August and I would love to connect with people who are going through the same...
