traning question possible injury but dont think so ???

hi everyone 1st time i have posted on here in ages, been training for a little wile, no set routine or anything just doing this and that, but a few weeks ago i deceided to follow a set routine wich consists of 3 days a week split into push - pull - legs and its done on thurs - sat - monday, doing 5x5 heavy lifting looking to fail around 4th rep on the 4th set. for me that was bar plus 1 25kg plate on each side so 70kg on a bench press and it felt good! im also eating every 3 hours and the correct foods ie fish - chicken - rice etc etc and also have a protein shake. all added up works out about 3000 calories a day. but anyway was fine for the 1st couple of sessions, but this week i went to do the same and as soon as i brought the bar down my chest felt SOOO TIGHT!! and hurt like i couldnt push! so had to drop to 15k each side and thats all i could manage. i always warm up and down and strech. had a weeks rest but it felt like i was doing it with severe DOMS! any ideas from anyone ?? thanks.

thanks mate, haha i can feel the training is real proper!! but just strange as to how i couldnt lift as much i felt like i had no strenth! i done 2 warm up sets of 12 reps and even they hurt. surley i cant need a longer rest then a week ? if i stretch my arms back to stretch my chest it doesnt feel right.... as in it feels tight but some spots feel realy tight like there going to tear.

its possible but some days can feel stronger than others for a variety of reasons. Diet, sleep, stress or even sleeping funny or driving a long distance that day for example. However it could also be a sign of something not quite being stacked up right and your body is trying to tell you Try to consider all things mentioned and as suggested make sure you warm up properly and then come back and let us know how you get on

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I was just feeling like I had no go in me!! Probably doesn't help that I work 6 days a week 8.30 till 5.30 and it's a 30 min drive each way.... But on the bike I have a huge smile riding it do doubt that. I will let you know how I get on after doing " pull " and see if it's the same as I was today as if it is something can't be right! Thanks.
