twice a week

i train each body part twice weekly monday/thursday= chest shoulders triceps tuesday/friday = legs back biceps have been loving this routine and making good gains on my weights etc for last 5 weeks i have been trying the push pull legs routine mon/wed/fri and have noticed i have had to drop my weights a lot for instance bench pressing on old routine was 3x8 @96kg and now on new routine ive had to drop it to 74kg and i can only do 3x4-5 if im lucky re its same with every exercise,all my weights have dropped real bad and cant do a full set of 8 so i was wondering if my body is telling me to train each part twice weekly amd keep goin with it

Personally, I feel the body needs more rest. If you're sincerely training hard, then once per week per body part is enough.

I would definately have to use less weight if I trained each bodypart twice a week. My chest still aches for at least 2 days after I have trained it.

I train each group twice a week at the moment too and is working really well, maybe just give yourself a week off to let your body recover a bit.

cheers lads for the advice im gonna stick to twice a week and do once a week at end of month kinds like 3weeks on 1week off see how that goes like ur journal nath maybe ill keep an eye on it cheers again lads

yeah mate, well as i said im doing each part twice per week slightly changed my split now just for a bit of a mix up but still the same idea.
